Second Chance

We walked along the empty sewer for a long ways, me snuggled into Edward's chest made me feel human again.

"Why are we down here?" I whispered knowing every vampire could hear me.

"It's a secret entrance."

"Their big on secrets aren't they." the girl turned back and gave me an intense gaze. her eyes were fixed on me like she was radiating some posion is gas into me.

Her lips pursed after her eyes fell to the ground.

"Why.....come quickly." was all she said and it was said sharply.

I followed Edward perfectly his movement was my movement and I adjusted in anyway possible so we could move in absolute unison.

We arrived a two double doors. I swallowed hard, not a very vampire-like thing to do. Edward rubbed my arm though it provided me with little comfort. the people here, everything about here made me uncomfortable and I was reddy to leave. to go where? I questioned myself. anywhere.

The doors were pushed open and five thrones sat out. the one in the middle was particularly disturbing. his smile was wide and grazed his ears, his red eyes just made it worse. the other two didn't look anything. their faces were pale and oddly stoic which made me even more nervous.

"Bella." Was the only word that rolled off his tongue. he sniffed the air waving it around as if to get a good whiff.

I know I hadn't taken a shower recently, but did I stink?

He laughed, "I will need a talk with Ray about his eating habits. Made you into a vampire didn't he? didn't he?" he questioned louder as if he wasn't sure I was.

The man on the middle throne stepped down and walked until he was inches away from me. he grabbed my hand and held the palm to his face. Edward squeezed my other hand. I looked over and his face had grown still. I hated when he got mad like this, it messed up his perfect features.

I turned to him and kissed him deeply. he was surprised but didn't pull away. when out kiss ended his face had smoothed and in the place of his frown now stood a wide grin.

My hand slapped to my side and now I stood face to face with him.

"We know you, but something tells me you have not been acquainted with us."

"Aro, Caisus. Demetri, Marcus, and our darling Jane."

I nodded as he announced and pointed to each of them.

"Carlisle, step forward please." Carlisle stepped closet to Aro with a grim look.

"Explain this."

"Explain what?"

"Explain to me how this human girl is now a vegetarian vampire. a teaching I know only you and the Denali's teach and they are to much of cowards to change anything but their clothes."

"We were away. another vampire must have attacked."

Aro nodded at Jane and Carlisle fell to the ground in pain all the other Cullens watched fear and pain and anger crossing all of their faces at once.

"This is the problem we have Carlisle, Ray isn't here nor is he ever going to be and I like to be aware of all changes going on. since Ray isn't here, you have the honor of making her human again."

"No, I can't do that. I can't. Bella is considered dead by most people and bringing her back could risk another death."

Aro retuned to his throne and sat back, "the decision has been made, now fix it."

All the Cullens turned away and Edward grabbed my waist dragging me along because I could think of moving by myself.

I was becoming human again but through a process Carlisle said I could die from. die again?

"As for you Edward, your situation will be handled accordingly."

"No one was saw and I no longer have the will."

Aro laughed, "the Volturi does not give second chances."
