Clashing Sun

War

I climbed into Renee and Phil's car. I didn't wanrt to leave Forks. I knew Edward was coming, but I still felt like a third wheel with Renee and Phil. They were always hugging and kissing and I felt like it should just be them. 

"You ready to go kiddo?" Phil asked. I nodded and tugged on the seat belt. 

"Bella!" Someone yelled. Mike ran up and I rolled the window down. "I'm going to miss you Arizona." 

I smiled, "I'm going to miss you two Mike." 

"If you're ever in town, don't forget to come buy some camping equipment." 

My smiled faded and I tried to smile again weakly, "I think i'm staying out of the woods for a while." I thought about the massive brutal battle going on just now. No human was aware of it. Yet. 

Mike waved goodbye and I rolled the window back up. 

"Who was that Bella?" Renee asked. 

"A friend." 

"What's his name?" 

"Mom!" 

"I'm sorry Bella, he's handsome." 

I sighed, "Mom, I have a boyfriend." 

"Aww, honey. You miss him don't you?" 

"Yeah. It's going to be...different without him." 

"Don't worry, you'll be to busy making new friends to be sad. Me and Phil made another move." 

"Where?" 

"New York." 

Just. My. Luck. 

I laid back as the trees of Forks merged creating the giant, endless forest. I stared knowing Edward was in them somewhere. Maybe fighting for his life. Maybe already dead. 

A tear slipped down my face. I laid my head on the window and closed my eyes. 

"Maybe this move isn't good for her Renee." Phil attempted to whisper. 

"She needs this, stability. Where else is she going to go?" 

"Stability. New York might not be permenant. We are the last thing she needs stability wise." 

"She is my daughter and her father has just died." 

"I'm sorry, you're right." 

Another few tears and my eyelids got heavy. I drifted off into my unpeaceful rest. 

I heard screams and cries as what was left of Forks' woods were being burned down. Humans told to stay away as a giant brutal battle between vampires and werewolves goes raging on. The body count doubling daily, as new vampires and werewolves come to help their team. 

"Bella!" I could hear Edward's velvet voice yelling.

"Watch out!" I yell in my mind as I see the werewolf creeping up behind Edward. He lunges and Edwad's neck snaps into two. His body rolls into a fire pit. 

"Edward!" I yell jumping awake from my dream. Luckily Renee and Phil weren't in the car. I picked up a note on a white piece of paper. 

"We went into the diner, come in when you're ready. We didn't want to wake you. Sleep well. Renee." 

"You didn't sleep well?" I placed my head into Edward's chest. 

"I had a dream...a nightmare." I explained. 

"About the fighting?" 

"Yeah. Is it bad?" 

"Yes, we both have back-up on the way. They need somewhere to feed." 

"Promise me you won't get yourself killed over this." 

"Bella-" 

"Promise me!" 

"I promise." 

"I want to go back." 

"Why?" 

"Renee and Phil... tell me what they're thinking." 

He sighed, " They want the best for you." 

"And?" 

"They don't think that's with them, but they're willing to try." 

Edward reached down and kissed my lips. I kissed him back finally finding something in my life right now that didn't seem so broken.

"Bella?" 

"Yes?" 

"Marry me." 

I shot up, "What?" 

"Marry me." 

"Marriage? This soon? This early? I'm only eighteen." 

"I thought you wanted to be with me." 

"I do, I just...i'm not sure if i'm ready." 

"Bella, i'm not sure if i'm coming back from this battle. We may not have another chance." 

"I know that, but..." 

"But what Bella! I could be dead tomorrow so marry me tonight!" 

"Tonight!" 

"We'll swing by Vegas and get marreid quick." 

"Edward, think about this." 

"I am thinking! I don't want to leave this world not accomplishing all of my goals, number one being to make you my wife." 

"Fine! Okay!" 

"Okay what?" 

"I'll marry you! Let's just go." 

I took his hand and he helped me out of the car and placed me on his back. 

"Hang on tight spider monkey." He grinned.
