We were in the heart of Volterra. I search anxiously around the square looking for any sign of my beloved Edward. there was none only a hot sunny day which meant danger for all vampires.
I ran fiercely searching until I heard Alice's voice.
"Bella? Over there." she pointed to her right and I saw the clock tower.
"It has an opening in the bottom. he'll probably stand there, it's direct access to the sun."
I ran faster than a human, faster than a vampire. I was feet away from the clock tower when I spotted his perfect body.
"Edward!" I yelled and took off running. time seem to freeze as I ran into his chest pushing him in to the ground and landing in top of him.
"Bella?" he questioned dazed.
"Yes, it's me. It's me." I repeated.
He grabbed the back of my head and pushed my lips on to his. it has been so long, I missed him so. we stood there for several minutes until he ran his hand down my shirt, grabbed my hand, and froze.
His eyes nearly popped out of his head and he lifted my head so my eyes. they were golden from my strict animal diet. his were dead black.
"Bella?"
"I promise you I wasn't tempting vampire with my blood..." I thought about it in all truth I had tempted a vampire with my blood. "okay, maybe I did."
Edward jumped up and looked at me.
"Who did this to you?"
"I don't know, I can't remember. he said that you two had met and I wanted to see you again so I offered my blood in exchange for where you were."
"Bella, I thought I told you to stay out of trouble."
I laughed shyly, "you told me to do an impossible thing."
He held my hand and looked at me as a father would. I punched him lightly in the chest to destroy the tension.
"I came looking for you, Charlie told you were dead. I thought it was my fault. I'm sorry Bella, I never should have left."
"You did what you thought was right."
He took me under his arm and I snuggled into his chest. I wide grin filled his face. he looked up and there stood her.
Edward had told me about the Volturi before but this was my first time actually seeing them. their crystal skin, their gliding motions, their blood red eyes.
I would have thought vampire royalty would have a better diet. apparently not.
"Come." her voice was like silk and it sent tingles down my spine.
Edward grabbed me closer and I followed him into a deep dark abyss being lead by a rogue vampire. what could go wrong?
