Chapter 22

"Maddie give that back," I say running down the hall after her. When i reached where she was she was leaning on her locker with a smirk as she looked through it. I stepped forward and she looked up at me.

"A sketch book of your deep secrets, this is golden," She says with a smile as she looks through more. Then Kaylee walks up and looks at me then Maddie.

"Come on Maddie, just give her her stupid book so we can leave," Kaylee says with a shrug. Maddie looks at her with a smile then looks down.

"A sketch of the football team, ohhh someone used to have a crush on some of the players," Maddie gushes as she holds my book up just as i go to grab it. She pushes me back and i fall onto the ground hard.

"Maddie," Kaylee says in more louder tone making a few people stop and look at us. Kaylee bends down and picks up a few of my books that fell.

"Stop! Just leave me alone," i say grabbing it from her.

"A dark room filled with blood....what the heck kinda sketchs are this you freak. I mean i know you are weird and crap but come on," she says looking at more pages. I was trying not to break, she doesn't deserve to see me cry.

"That's enough Maddie," A deep voice says from the side. I look and Justin is walking over with Zack and Ryan. Maddie smirks and still holds the book open to one page.

"Oh please, you and i both know you are using her Justin....I mean, the poor broken suicidal girl and all.....You just want people to forget your bad reputation around here," she says looking back down at the book.

"Please, the only one getting used around here is You, by the entire male population," Ryan says making the other boys chuckle. Maddie doesn't seem phased by this at all.

"OH lookie here, someone already tried to kill themselves didn't they.....To weak and pathic to even do that," Maddie says just as Justin ripes the book away from her. Everyone around us looks at me, only Justin knew about that. 

"Why can't you be respectful for once in your life?" Justin snaps at Maddie. Kaylee looks at me like she is torn between two things.

"He's right Maddie...You need to stop being a bitch," Kaylee says making us all look at her in shock. She never talks back to Maddie, she is always just following her and not talking.

"Oh shut up Kaylee, you are just a charity case to me anyways, just like Jessica is to Justin... Maybe you two can be friends, i mean you both seem to have stuff in common.....Oh and Justin, you didn't think all these things about me when we dated," She says walking away with the flip of her hair over her shoulder.

"You never told us you tried killing yourself," Ryan blurts out earning a slap on the head from Zack. I shake my head and walk away.

"Jessica wait!" Justin says but i hear Kaylee say something and no one follows me outside. I run behind the bleachers where i normally go. A few minutes later i hear footsteps.

"Jessica, it's me," Kaylee's voice calls out. I slowly come out from under the bleachers, not many people can fit back there but since i am like a twig i can no problem. "Look, i know i might be the last person you want to talk to, but believe me when i say this, I never meant to hurt you all those years. Maddie threatened me about my past and i didn't know what to do. But i realized today that i don't care, because i would rather her ruin my broken life already then to ruin someone elses more," she says. I look up at her.

"She said we had stuff in common," i whisper. We sit on the bleachers and face the feild.

"She's right, we do.... You tried suicide, so did I. When my older sister died, i was in a depression. She was my best friend and the only person i could count on, so when she was gone i had nothing. I cut myself, i even overdoesed one time but puked them back up because i was to afraid to die. After that Maddie found me and made me popular and said if i ever went against her she would tell everyone i tried killing myself... Well let her because i don't care anymore, i moved on and got help and i am better...That's what you need, help... And i think you have it already," She says with a smile.

"Who?" i asked confused. She laughs.

"Justin...Can't you see that boy is crazy about you. He will help you get through this... And as for Maddie, heck when Layla hears about this even if she is handicap right now she will come down here and kill her probably, but i just want you to know, you have me now. I know it might take awhile to earn your trust back, but i am always here for you," she says getting up to leave. I quickly get up and hug her.

"Thank you Kaylee, and for the record, i do trust you," i say letting her go as Justin walks up. Kaylee says her goodbyes to me and walks off. Second hour has started already but i don't care right now.

"Here's your book," Justin says handing it to me. I set it on my bag on the bleachers and look at him.

"I know what Maddie said wasn't true, you wouldn't do that to me," i say looking up at him. He has a frown on his face and i get a bad feeling.

"Actually, she was right," he says and pauses.....
