Chapter 73

"Babe please just calm down a little..Everything will be alright," Justin says as he squeezes my hand as he drives toward the nearest hospital. I look out the window holding back tears, why is this happening, hasn't our family been through enough? It's been a half hour since we got the call from my dad, and we just pulled into the hospital.

"Look at me," Jusitn says as he parks the car and won't let me get out. I look at him, trying my hardest not to let a single tear all. He cups my face with his hands.

"How do you know this will be okay?" i whispered as the tears spilled over my eye lids and i let out a whimper. He takes his thumbs and wipes away the tears and kisses my forehead.

"Trust me, everything happens for a reason," he says as we finally get out of the car. Justin pulls me to his side as we walk into the hospital. We get to the front desk and the lady is on the phone. While we wait i look around, they must be all on the other floors waiting room.

"How may i help you two tonight?" the lady says in a sweetly sickening voice. I don't say anything as i look around terrified. I must have been so unfocused because when Justin pulled me to follow him i didn't even hear where we were headed. We took the stairs, i guess to kill time.

"Third floor," Justin says as we step into the hall. As soon as we do, i see my dad, Layla, Rylee, the twins, and Zach sitting there. My dad pulls me into a hug, it looked like he had been crying as well.

"What happened?" I manage to get out.

"We were playing outside and she just started getting a nose bleed, then she collapsed," He says looking at the room Brooke is placed in.

"Did they find out why?" Justin asked, and as he did everyone went silent. I looked at Layla, then Zack, then back to my dad.

"Dad?" i asked getting worried. He lets out a sigh and runs a hand through his hair.

"She has Leukemia," he says. At that moment my head breaks into a million pieces.

"What? No, she can't she's only just a kid," i say freaking out. Justin hugs me but it doesn't clam me down.

"Shhh, everything will be okay," He whispers. Then the sound of my babies cries made me calm down. I pulled away from Justin and seen Cassidy and Colton reaching out for us. I picked up Colton and Justin grabbed Cassidy. I held Cole close and it calmed me down, then Justin pulled us into a family hug. 

"It's gonna be okay Jess," Layla says rubbing my back as she stands with us. Zack was holding her hand next to her as well.

It's been a few days and Brooke is feeling better, although she now is a permanit resident at the hospital. I've come to terms with the fact this is what God had planned for her, and there is a greater perpuse to all this. Brooke has too, she decided to be happy no matter what happened. The doctor gave her a month, only a month. Brookes one wish is to see Layla's baby when it's born, but Layla has two more months to go until she is due.

"Jess, did you feed the twins yet?" Justin asked as he walks in the bedroom with a baby in each arm. I turn and nod.

"Yeah, they ate an hour ago," i laugh taking Cassidy from him and placing her on my hip.

"Man, you two eat a lot," He says poking Cole's stomach making him giggle. The Twins are four weeks old already, almost a month, time is flying past.

"When's everyone getting here?" I asked just as the front door can be heard opening.

"SURE LET YOURSELVES IN!" Justin shouts out the bedroom door.

"DON'T MIND IF WE DO!" Andrew yells back followed by a group of laughs. I shake my head with a smile as we walk downstairs where everyone is. 

"Let me see my Niece and Nephew," Rylee says taking both kids in his arms making them laugh. The twins are both really good with the group, they love them and are basically all uncles and aunts already to them.

"Please, we all know i am their favorite," Kyle says holding Cassidy. I shake my head and hug Cara.

"Hey girly, looking good for having kids a month ago," she jokes making me push her a little.

"Woah, violent," Spencer jokes as we all move to the backyard. The babies were getting passed around while we all talked. Layla was getting big.

"So is it a boy or a girl?" Cara asked her as us girls at around the table while the boys got ready to go in the pool.

"A girl," she says with a smile as she places a hand on top of her stomach.

"Yes, more nieces to spoil," Cara joked. I laugh as i watch the boys jump in the pool. Justin had the twins in suits now.

"Babe, please be careful with them," i say worried as he stands in the pool with both kids in his arm. Zack swims over and takes Cole from him and they go to the shallow end so they can stand and hold the kids in the water. I watch as Justin lowers Cassidy so her feet touch the water and she freaks out and lifts them making everyone laugh while she spazzes.

"Aw, that's adorable," Layla says.

"Ha, look at cole," Cara says as we look over, sure enough Cole was splashing like no tomorrow laughing every time he touched the water, then pauses when it splashed his face before going on.

"Cole's going to be swimmer maybe," Layla says watching him.

"NO way, my boy is going to be a football star," Justin says with pride. Everyone laughs. I smiled, today was going to be a perfect day, a cook out, pool time, what more could we need.

"Oh yeah, i forgot Justin, i took the present along," Rylee says as he hops out of the pool and runs around the side gate and into the front. Everyone gets out of the pool and sits around the table. 

"Oh no, what did you get now?" I say looking at everyone.

"Well, Momma Stevenson thought you needed one," Layla says as Rylee walks back into the gated backyard, my mouth drops....
