Chapter 29

"Why are you so happy?" Maddie said with a smirk. I stand up and grab my books, i wasn't in the mood for this right now. 

"I have to be somewhere," i say trying to get past her but she pushed me back and i slam my back into the book case behind me making a few books fall.

"Don't walk away from me freak....Look, word around school is you and Justin are a thing now," she asked me and i look away. She grabs my hair and makes me look at her. "Justin is mine, and mine only...So you dump him," she says letting me go. I stand up st righter and look at her. Come on Jessica, it's time tou stand up for yourself.

"No," i say looking right at her. She looks at me in shock but then smirks.

"Excuse me little miss nobody? Care to repeat that," she says in a snobby voice. 

"I said no... I will not break up with Justin, because he makes me happy," i say making her laugh.

"He makes you happy? Please, nothing can make a girl like you happy.. Sweetheart he is using you, i already warned you... Best to leave guys like him, to pretty rich girls like me," she says making the blood boil in my vains.

"I'm not going to break up with him. He's mine," i say in a possesive tone. I was not going to let the one thing good in my life be taken from me by someone who doesn't even deserve it.

"You'll regret this," she says as she shoves me again making me fall and a bunch of books to fall on me. It hurt but i didn't show any pain to her, she doesn't deserve it. She laughs and bends down to my level on the ground.

"This is what happens when you fight fire with fire Jessica, and you're about to get burned," she says walking away. I groan and just lay there for awhile until the librarian walks in.

"Oh dear, Jessica dear are you alright?" she asked me in her sweet old ladie voice as she starts picking up the many books laying all over. I sit up slowly and nod.

"Um, yeah i just tripped sorry... I will clean it up," i say picking them up one at a time. She grabs the book from me.

"Oh, i got this. You better run along now, school is over. I can take care of these books," she says with a smile. I smile back and grab my bag and leave. That's why i love it there, the ladie is so nice and caring and it makes me feel like there's someone who actually cares about me.

"There you are," Layla says with a smile leaning on her locker with her crutches. I smile and walk over.

"Whoa bruises all over, what happened?" she asked as we walked outside.

"Maddie of course," I say with as shrug. 

"Oh i don't care if i am handicap right now, i will take this crutch and beat her with it," Layla says all mad. I laugh at her, there is no way to take her serious on crutches. We walk up to the boys who are waiting by Justin's car. He smiles and kisses my cheek. 

"Ready to head home?" he asked. I shake my head no and he frowns.

"I am actually meeting Allison for coffee," i say making him smile. He opens the car door for me and i get in, layla and Zack in the back. 

"That's good," he says driving down toward the coffee place. I smile and look back at Layla.

"Layla, actually i was wondering if you would come with... I would like her to meet you," I say making Layla smile.

"Sure boo," she says sounding excited. 

Justin pulls up in a parking spot across from the coffee place and looks at me.

"Zack and I will be down the street at the Ice cream place if you need anything," He says leaning over and kissing me. I smile and hop out of the car and wait for Layla to come.

When we get inside i look around and right away i spot Allison sitting at a table by the window. I smile and walk over leaving Layla to trail behind in all her slowness.

"Allison," i greet walking up. She smiles and stands up and we hug as we both take a seat just as Layla sits down with us.

"Thanks for leaving the handicap behind," she says glaring at me then smiles toward Allison. "You must be Allison," she says holding out her hand. Allison shakes it and smiles back.

"That I am, i don't believe we met. I seen you on the beach but that was it," Allison says in a sweet tone.

"Oh, Layla is my best friend, basically family by now. Her parents and my, um 'parents' were good friends and we became friends at like age one and all... So she is like my other half," i say smiling at my best friend who was smiling back.

"Oh that is wonderful! I am so glad to meet one of your closet friends, i feel like we are getting somewhere with this mother daughter thing," she says making me smile more. I nod.

"Yeah, actually i was kinda hoping i could take you up on your offer on moving in with you.... I mean, it's gonna be weird and all but i think we both deserve a chance at this," I say finding confidence i didn't know i had. 

"Yes, that would be wonderful... I got a room for you already. I did it already but i don't know if we have the same taste and all, but you can see for yourself. And it is only a street away from your boyfriends," she says excited. Now all i had to do was break the news to Justin about moving out.
