Chapter 76

I drove up to the house and parked the car. Taking a deep breath I get out and open the back to get the stroller out. Lexi jumps out and sniffs around, i don't put a leash on her, surprisingly she is well trained at a young age and sticks close to the babies. After getting the stroller out i go to the back doors and open it. Colton giggles as i carefully set him in the front seat of the stroller and buckle him in. I laugh at him, he was such a bubbly baby. Next push the stroller to the other side and pick Cassidy up, she also giggles and grabs my locket i got from Justin when we first met. I smile as i place her in the seat behind Coltons and buckle her.

"This is it guys, let's get some answers and meet grandpa for the first time," i say as i push the stroller up to Pattie's front door. I talked to her this morning and she said that Jeremy was staying with them now, since him and his new wife had a little argument, so i took the chance to talk to him. I knocked on the door as i called Lexi over.

"Oh Jessica, come in, come in," She says as she moves so i can get the stroller in. Lexi comes running past and goes straight to Jazzy and she plays with her. I smile as I unbuckle Colton and hold him while Pattie gets Cassidy.

"Thanks for doing this, and for not letting Justin know...I just think that the twins need to meet their grandpa even if Justin won't," I whisper kissing Colton on the head.

"I understand, Justin will come around baby.....It's just a touch thing," she says as a man walks in. I stare at him, he has tattoos, a beard, and is well built just like Justin only more.

"Who is this?" he asked looking at me and the twins. Pattie smiles a little and faces him.

"Jeremy, this is Jessica, and her twins Cassidy and Colton....This is Justin's girlfriend and kids," she says making Jeremy's eyes light up.

"I didn't know i had grandkids," he says walking closer. Colton looks the strange man up and down before squealing and holding his arms out to him. I laugh and look at Jeremy.

"Do you want to hold him?" I question. Jeremy looks at me with uncertainty but takes Colton into his arms. Colton goes silent for a moment before a smile appears on his face and he giggles and touches Jeremy's mouth with his little hands. Pattie hands Cassidy to me and takes Jazzy with her out of the room. 

"How about we sit," I say as we sit on the couch.

"Nobody had informed me that theese two were born," he says playing with Colton.

"Yeah, well, Justin never really mentioned anything about his dad, so i didn't even know about you until a few weeks before the kids were born.....May i ask why he doesn't speak to you?" i say holding a squerming Cassidy.

"I guess we kind of drifted.....When Pattie and i got divorced he would still come over and we would hang out, father son stuff. But when i started dating my new wife he started distancing himself a little, but when he heard we were having a baby he lost it. We got in a huge fight and he never talked to me again after that..I tried calling him, emailing him, i even went here to see him, but he wouldn't have anything to do with me....I guess some of the things i said in the argument, i wish i never said because i didn't mean them at all, i was just upset and he was upset......If i could fix things believe me i would, but i can't and i am paying that price everyday because of it," he says kissing Colton on the head and looking at me.

"Well, even if Justin won't speak to you, i think you have a right to see your grandkids, even if he gets mad," I say making him smile. 

"Jessica rihgt?" he asked and i nod, "You're a good kid, i'm happy he found a beautiful girl like you," he says making me sad a little, because if only he knew the past.

"Well, i have to get home before Justin does, but here's my number," i say handing him a paper with my number on it, "Text me when some good times are to bring the twins over," I say as he helps me get them in my car again.

"I will, and thank you," he says closing the back door.

"LEXI!" i call waiting for my last passanger to get in. Lexi comes shotting out the front door and jumps into the back of the car.

"New puppy, looks only a month or younger," Jeremy says. I nod.

"Yeah my friends parents got her for us, she is a good dog and it's only been two days since we got her," i say getting in the car.

"Well, you drive safe now," He says as he watches on leave.

When i get home i am greeted with an empty house, no one was home. I sigh and carry the twins to the living room and set them in their swings and go to the kitchen. I get a glass of water and lean on the counter.

"Oh hey Jess!" Layla says making me jump and drop my glass, causing it to shatter.

"Gosh, don't scare me like that Layla," I say bending down to pick up the broken glass.

"I am so sorry let me help," She says but i stop her.

"No need miss pregnant, you sit," i order making her laugh as she takes a seat. She was literally due any time now and last thing i needed was her bending over and going into labor in my kitchen.

"Okay little miss bossy pants," She jokes as i start picking up the glass. As I do i think about today, was going behind Justin's back a good idea, or should i tell him? I don't want him to be mad, but at the same time the kids need their grandparents, right? 

"Jess you're bleeding," Layla points out as i look down at the puddle of blood forming on the ground.
