The day was going by extremely fast and i was more nervous as the hours flew by. By lunch time i was so nervous i couldn't eat.
"Hey, what has you so jumpy today?" Layla asked. Today was her first day back at school, she was still on crutches but she insisted on coming today, of course Zack never left her side, so i guess she was fine.
"I am meeting my mom today after school," i say to her. I already filled her in on me being adopted or more like taken against my will, so she knew and so did Zack. These three people with me now i trust the most, i kinda trust Justin's friend Ryan but not completely since he is never around so how can i get to know him.
"Babe it will be fine," Justin says kissing my cheek. I smile and Layla does too.
"I can't believe you two are finally dating. This is perfect," she gushes making Justin and Zack shake their heads in amusement.
"I think i'm gonna be sick," i say getting up and running out of the lunch room and into the girls bathroom. I throw up and lean against the wall trying to calm myself.
"Jessica," Justin says from the doorway. I close my eyes and control my breathing.
"I can't do this Justin.... She didn't want me, why should she get another chance?" I say as my voice cracks. I hear footsteps then Justin opens the bathroom stale i am in. He would just walk into the ladies room and not care. He grabs my face carefully with his hands, rubbing circles on my cheek with his thumbs.
"Hey, calm down alright, your mother is trying to get a second chance at being the mother she never was, i think you owe her that....It wasn't her choice to give you up remember," he says in a soft voice. I nod and take his hand as we walk out of the ladies room.
"Um, what were you doing in the ladies room," Kaylee says with an amused look.
"Can't a man have some peace int he ladies room," Justin jokes making Kaylee and i laugh a little. Kaylee smiles at me.
"How have you been Jessica?" she asked me. I knew what she was talking about but Justin looked completely confused.
"Good, very good," I say holding Justin's hand and looking up at him.
"So word on the street is you two are official now...It's about time, anyone with eyes could see you two were meant to be," she says with a smirk. Justin smiles down at me.
"Everyone keeps saying that," i say hiding my face in Justin's chest. His laugh was like a sweet melody to my ears and i loved every second of it.
"Well you two were to blind to see that you loved each other, but everyone else seen it," Kaylee says laughing. Justin kisses my nose and smiles.
"We just had to figure a few things out, but we are happy now," he says wrapping an arm around me.
"Well, i better get going. Class is starting soon," she says going to leave.
"Kaylee wait," i say as she turns toward us, "How are you? Honestly," i say knowing that maddie turned on her. A look of frustration and pain crossed her face.
"I'll be alright," she says walking down the hall away from us.
School was over and i was now waiting by Justin's car for him. Layla and Zack were with us, i decided i couldn't do this without the people that mean the world to me, they are my support right now. I look up at the school just as Justin is walking toward us. I smile and he smiles back and kisses me when he gets to us.
"Shall we," he says opening the door for me. I smile and slide in. Layla and Zack slide in the back while Justin starts driving toward the park.
"Stop bouncing your leg," Justin says with a teasing smile. I didn't even notice i was bouncing my leg until he said that. I stopped and then started tapping my finger on the arm rest.
"Jessica, seriously chill out. It is going to be fine," Layla says from the back seat. I nod and relax a little. We were almost to the park now, and my mind was in over-drive by this point with all the questions i wanted to hear from my mom.
"Here we are, this is it," Justin says as he pulls into a parking spot. I look around and see a few kids playing on the play set with their parents watching them. I scaned the area until i seen a single young women sitting on the beach by the lake's edge. She has brown hair just like mine, that had to be her. I guess i was so caught up in my mind i didn't see everyone had gotten out of the car and Justin was holding my door open for me.
"You can do this, we are all here with you," He says holding out his hand for me. I slowly take it and he pulls me out. I intertwined out fingers as we set off toward the beach. As we got closer i could feel my heart beat rising, i wasn't ready but i knew ihad to do this. I looked back to where Zack was picking up Layla because crutches weren't working so well in this sand. Justin looked back and mouthed something to them and they stopped and sat in the sand while we kept walking.
"Justin, i don't know about this anymore," I whisper but he kept me going.
"Jessica, baby you can do this. You are strong," he says he suddenly stops making me almost fall.
"What are you doing?" i asked him. He smiles.
"This is something you have to do alone... I will be right here, only ten feet away if you need me," he says motioning me to go on. I take a deep breath and walk toward the lady again. I get up next to her and she looks up at me.
