ALLI POV: I walk in the hospital room and gasp. Dad looks horrible, but he's awake. I guess that's a good thing, but I can't imagine the pain he's going through. He looks at me and briefly smiles, before he coughs and returns to a exhausted expression.
"Hey Al." He says with a raspy voice.
"Hey. How are you feeling?" I ask, sitting down beside him as Claire leaves the room.
"Do you really want to know?" He says, turning over on his side so he can see me. He grabs my hand. "I'm going to be okay though sweetheart. I promise." He says, observing my shaking. He can tell that I've been crying. My eyes always get so red and swollen afterwards. He squeezes my hand, and gives a little smile. He pats the bed, signaling me to hop up. I lay down next to him, as he puts his arm around me.
"I love you so much baby."
"I love you too Dad." I say as I close my eyes. Then his monitor begins to beep.
