Chapter Twenty-Six

"Kamusta na siya?" Tanong ko kay Jam pagkapasok ko sa room ni Cassy.

Lumabas kasi ako para bumili ng pagkain namin.

"Okey na siya. Just waiting for her to wake up." Sagot niya kaya napatingin ako kay Cassy who is sleeping peacefully. "The doctor said they saw morphine on her blood stream" 

Napatingin ako kay Jam na naka upo sa tabi nito. And the anger starting to building up again.

"I will not let him get away from this!" Galit kong sabi. He drugged Cassy. That evil jerk! 

Jam look at me with concern "Let the police handle it Andy. I already called my uncle and he said he will help us"

I didn't answer. I just look at Cassy. She doesn't deserve what happened... She doesn't deserve Gab.

"Natawagan mo na ba sila tita?" Narinig kong tanong ni Jam. Kaya napalingon ulit ako sa kanya.

Umiling ako.

"Why?"

"Hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasabihin yung ng yari." Sabi saka muking tumingin kay Cassy "pinagkatiwala nila sa akin si Cassy. I promise them I'll protect her. But I failed. She got drugged.. And she almost got rape. Sa tingin mo paano ko yun sasabihin sa kanila?" Saka muli kong nilingon si Jam.

"Wala kang kasalanan sa ngyari Andy. Wag mong sisisihin yung sarili mo."

"Pahinga ka muna Jam. Ako muna dito." Sabi ko. Not minding what she had told me. Kasi kahit anong gawin ko I can't help but to blame myself. Kung sana nasa tabi niya ako hindi sana mangayayri to.

Tumango naman ito at tumayo at pumunta sa may couch para huminga.

Umupo naman ako sa tabi ng higaan ni Cassy. Hindi ko namalayan na nakatulog pala ako.

Nagising ako when a soft hand gently stokes my hair and playing with it. Then minute later I feel a warm hand running through my cheeks. Hindi ko man alam kung sino but it give sparks throughout my body...I feel so electrify. I slowly look up and open my eyes. Then I met the pair of eyes looking at me and smiling. I blink once.. Twice.. And trice.. I can't believe what is happening seeing her smiling at me.

Am I in heaven? If I am. Please I don't wanna go back down to earth.  

"Andy.." She called my name with a smile. As if she is happy to see me.

I am stunned at the moment. Looking at her.. looking at her smiling face.. looking at her perfect features. I feel like soffucated at the moment.. my body is heated up and my heart is momentarily stops in beating. 

"Hey Andy!" Sabi niya ulit. And snap her finger in front of me.

"Cassy...." 

She just smile at me as a response.

"Ah wait tatawagin ko yung doctor." Sabi ko sabay tayo. Pero hinawakan niya yung kamay ko. Kaya napatingin ako sa kanya.

"Wag na. Jam already did."

Pag katapos niyang sabihin yun ay saktong dumating ang mga doctor and immediately check at her. I just look at her while the doctors are check her out. After few minutes of waiting the doctor said pwede na siyang lumabas sa susunod na araw but she still need a rest bago tuluyang makapasok.

For the passed two days na kasama ko siya. Binabatayan... inaalagaan I tried to keep my distance to her. Not because I want to but because I have too. The day when she woke up.. The day that I felt her warm hands over my cheeks... The day that my heart halts on beating when she stared at me. That day.. That same day.. Eunice called and said I love you. Made me go back to reality that I have a girlfriend.. That I am committed to someone.
