I left London a while ago. I'd left Noel and Liam and Oasis cleanly. I'd taken my son straight to Liverpool, where else?

Noel once insisted Liverpool wasn't home for me but he was wrong. It was home, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else now I was back here.

I thought a lot about what home was since I walked away from his. He'd insisted my home was with my parents because that's what I walked away from when we met. That wasn't home anymore, I never wanted to live back there. London was never where I belonged. Manchester had too many memories and reminders. Liverpool was about the same but it wasn't like I could go it alone somewhere brand new.

Jamie and his girlfriend Sinead had taken us in.

I got better back in the ordinary world where there were no drugs or dodgy people, paparazzi or any of that. It was odd to be normal again but it was good. My life was back in my own hands.

I sat with Sinead, chatting about work. More I was letting my frustration out. She had the misfortune of being the only one I could gossip with since I sold my car. I wasn't taking the train to Manchester just to chat to Kenzie either. That was the last place I wanted to be.

"It's not right, treating you like that, there's laws for fuck's sake." She commented

"I guess I should just be grateful for the job after so long as Noel's "personal assistant" and under my current circumstances."

I didn't have anything of much use to put on a CV or a believable account of what I'd been doing for the last six years, nevermind references. It was a miracle they took a chance on employing me in the first place. Even if it was just bar work.

"They still can't treat you like shit for any of that though..."

She was interrupted by someone knocking, banging on the door. She looked at me as though I should know who it was, I shrugged back. I wasn't expecting anyone and there weren't bailiffs after me or anything.

"They're gonna wake Ste' up." She pointed out but I didn't move. "I'll go answer it then, shall I?" She walked off to do just that.

I sat back thinking she'd give them the boot, quick.

"She doesn't want to see you." I heard her assert.

"Let me in. I need to see her." The other voice got louder too.

"No!"

I stood listening through the wall, hoping she'd make him go away. I couldn't face him. Not today, not ever. I left. He can't just turn up here.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?"

"I'm Sinead and this is my fucking flat." she told him calmly

"No. This is the Scouser's place." he tried to correct.

"I'm his girlfriend, I live here and if you don't fuck off, I'll call the police so they can make you leave."

"I've not done owt wrong!"

"Trespassing."

"Please. I know she's here. Let me talk to her, five minutes." He attempted bargaining.

"She don't live here. She's at work..."

He interrupted, getting impatient. "She's not!"

"Even if she was here, you're about the last person she wants to see."

"Why?! What have I done?!"

She laughed at him. "She's moved on, you need to move on too."
