Sinead decided it'd be fun if we did a cake tasting session so she could decide on the kind of wedding cake they might have. We went to a cake shop in Liverpool. They showed us all these different sizes and styles of finished cakes and all the different toppers they had.

I had the boys with me and Ste quickly got bored just looking at all the examples. He didn't care about learning any of the stuff Sinead was finding out. I tried to entertain him by joking with him about the couple having to stand on the top of their cake on their wedding day but it didn't really work because he was ready to move onto eating the cakes.

They sat us around a table (they even had a highchair for Ste which he didn't like because he hardly ever had to use them but it kept him sat where he needed to be) and presented us with all these different samples, leaving us to try them all. All the girls got digging in with our forks.

"I didn't know there were so many options." I said as I gave half of my slice of Orange cake to Ste. "I'm not a fan of that."

"You're a vanilla and chocolate kind of girl, aren't you?" Lydia smiled. She got a piece of her cake on her fork and put it to my mouth. "Try this. Mint chocolate."

"That's so good! That's got my vote."

"I didn't like that one." Fiona said. "It didn't feel like I was eating wedding cake."

"Yeah, it was like eating an Aero." Heather agreed.

"I don't know how we're supposed to decide when they're all so good." Sinead commented. "I could just keep eating these all day."

I fed a piece of cake (lemon and lime) to Lydia. We didn't realise we were being so couple like until I heard Fiona's comments about us.

"When are they gonna tell us they're an item?" she said in Sinead's ear.

"I don't know, when they're ready." Sinead replied diplomatically. "I didn't tell anyone about Jamie so soon."

"But we all already know." Heather joined in. "You basically paired them up."

"I didn't pair them up, that's ridiculous!" Sinead denied. "It's nothing to do with me."

We didn't say anything about it. I didn't like the speculation but I wasn't about to clear things up for them. Lydia put the attention right back onto the cakes.

Sinead picked red velvet and almost ordered the cake then and there but she didn't know how she wanted the outside of the cake to be designed. That relied on knowing guess numbers and stuff like that, that they didn't know yet anyway.

When we were finished in the cake shop we parted ways. Lydia had a meeting with an estate agent for us to go to.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked. "I'm so full and we're all gonna be ready for a sugar crash."

"It'll be alright. We know what we want so we'll keep it short."

We sat down in their office. Luckily Ste wasn't the first child to be dragged into these meetings and there was a box of toys for him to play with while we

It wasn't something to think about, moving back to Liverpool. I needed it. It was so much easier living there. It was only hard on Peggy but we'd visit all the time so the distance wouldn't matter.

The estate agent questioned us on our budget, the area we wanted to live and the features we were interested in and we answered as best we could.

"Two bedrooms." she noted. "Is it just the two of you or your partners?"

"It's us and my two kids." I said, pointing to the boys.

She wrote that down too. "So three bedrooms? How old are the children?"
