I woke up early the next morning with George laid next to me, her hand in mine. "When did you get in here?"

I was so relieved to see her. She was completely and utterly real and in the flesh. What I thought was memories of the previous day were recollections of a nightmare. We went straight here from the flat, no diversions to Jamie's or work or to where the docks meet the mersey.

"Earlier. I'm here to rescue you. Now you're awake, sleepyhead."

"What?" I asked, confused where she was going with this, what was there to rescue me from at Liam's?

"He's got you imprisoned here, if we don't go, you'll be stuck here forever." she said. "We shouldnt've stayed last night but he watched too closely.

"He watched my room?"

"All night."

"He was probably just protecting me from the bad men..."

"He is the bad man. He's behind it all, the stalking, the burglary, everything."

I just stared at her in shock. I'd tried so hard to trust him and the whole time it was him trying to betray me. It made perfect sense. He wanted to be a dad so he set out to steal my kids the moment he found out I was pregnant. He had them. I was stuck in here until he kicked me out, then I'd never see any of them again.

"Come on, we're getting you out of here."

She was right, I should've never let him bring us here. We had to make our escape. She pulled me out of bed and we bolted to the door thinking we could be long gone before Liam even woke up.

"What about the kids? We need to get the kids."

She didn't want to stop to get them, there was no time.

"I can't leave without them

"We'll come back for them, when we've got a proper home, somewhere right nice so they don't have to keep moving around like this. I promise."

"But..."

"We have our daughter coming. We need to focus on her. If you stay here, she'll die so are you coming or not?"

"Okay."

I tried to open the front door, it didn't budge no matter how hard I tried it. "It's stuck."

"See! He's got you trapped."

Liam came walking through. "Where are you going in your pajamas?"

"Why's the door locked?" I tried forcing the handle over and over.

"Let us go!"

"Cos I've not been out yet." he pointed out.

"Let us out."

"Why?"

"Where's the key Liam? You're not holding us hostage."

"No one's held hostage. Will ya leave the door alone?"

"No! Open it. Now." I tried to demand but he had none of it.

"Come and have breakfast, what d'you want? I'll make you anything."

"He's trying to drug you so you can't go." she said, grabbing me. "Don't trust him. Don't let him talk you into his shit."

"I'm not hungry." I tried to insist but my stomach rumbled, betraying me.

"Don't be daft, come on."

"He's planning to poison you, you'll be dead if you listen to him." she warned. "He'll have your kids."

I turned to face George, not believing her on that one. "What would you know?"
