Chapter 41
“I think that’s the last box” Emma says, catching her breath as we both set down the large boxes that we were carrying.
“Cool” I say before sitting down in my office chair.
“Thanks for the help” She smiles as she begins to open the boxes.
“No problem” I say as I walk over to the closet to find what I’m going to wear to the party tonight.
“Ugh” I groan as I ruffle through all of my clothing.
“What’s wrong?” Emma asks as she shoves some random things in her desk.
“I don’t have anything to wear” I whine throwing things that won’t work over my shoulder.
“Where are you going?” She asks as she continues to unpack.
“A party” I sigh, “By the way, you can come if you want”
“Yeah, I’ll go” she says happily, “and I might have a dress you can borrow if you want”
“That’d be really great” I smile as I walk out of the closet.
Emma opens a box labeled clothes and pulls out a black dress. She places it in my hands before pulling out her own dress. The dress she has given me has an open back, and is quite short, but not to showy. Emma’s dress is silver and short, it will probably look amazing on her.
“What time do we need to be there?” She beams.
“Around 7:30” I shrug before laying the dress carefully on my bed.
“We better start getting ready then” She says as she glances at the clock.
It’s 6:45, so she is probably right. I begin with my hair, making it as straight as possible, before applying a little more make-up than usual.
Emma is extremely nice, she always seems to be smiling. It might be a good thing to have her around, she is probably going to be a good person to turn to when I’m having guy troubles. She seems like she would be great when you need a bit of cheering up. I am so grateful that Lauren switched rooms, because without that things would be a bit different. And that’s strange to think about.
We both take a place in front of the mirror, and look over each other’s appearance.
“We look hot” Emma laughs.
“Yeah, we do” I giggle before grabbing my bag.
“Ready to go?” I ask her as I open the door. “I’ll drive.”
“Yep” She says before checking her hair in the mirror and walking out the door.
We make the drive to the boys house, and it is their biggest and craziest party yet. There are people hanging out all the way down the street, and there were so many cars parked outside that we had to park on a different street. We walk the short distance back to the house. When we get inside we are immediately engulfed by the loud music. When I turn around Emma is standing and talking to some guy, I’ll have to make sure I check on her later to see if she is doing okay.
I spot Luke in the corner of the room, leaning on the wall by himself, with a red cup in his hand. I make my way over to him and lean on the wall too.
“Hey Lukey”
“Hello” He smiles.
“It’s crazy tonight” I chuckle.
“Yeah, there is quite a large amount of people here.”
“Uh-huh” I confirm, “Have you seen Michael?”
“Yeah, I think he was in the kitchen” he answers looking around.
“Thanks” I say as I pat him on the shoulder.
I push past people and finally get to the kitchen, Michael is standing over the sink, looking out the window. I come up behind him and carefully wrap my arms around his torso.
“Hey” I whisper.
“Charlie?” He asks.
“Yeah” I giggle as he turns around.
“Hi” he greets, placing a kiss on my lips while placing his hands on my waist. “Do you want a drink?”
“No, I’m fine.” I smile, “I might have to drive Emma back tonight”
He nods in response before placing his lips back on mine, he carefully lifts me on top of the counter, his tongue slowly beginning to enter my mouth. My hands run up his back and then tangle into his hair. He begins to rub circles on my back, deepening the kiss with each second.
“Hey Mike-“ a voice starts, making Michael pull away. Standing in the doorway is Ashton, I look at the floor. That was completely embarrassing.
“Uh, anyway” He continues. “We’re almost out of drinks, and you’re the only one sober enough to go get some more, so would you?”
“I guess” He groans. “I’ll be back in a bit, okay?”
He places a quick peck on my cheek, I jump off the counter as he leaves the room. I quietly walk out of the kitchen and wander around the house. I watch all of the people drink themselves to intoxication, watch them dance, sing, and just plain out party. Suddenly I hear a commotion in the back yard so I go out to check on everyone. When I get out there I spot Calum, he is wasted. He is trying to chug a can of beer and everyone is cheering him on, hence the commotion. I watch as he finishes the can, promptly throwing it in the pool. People continue to cheer him to drink another, but I don’t think he can take it.
I quickly push my way through the circle of people just as he is trying to get in a fight with someone else. The other guy is clearly drunk too, he tries to lay a hand on Calum, but he just backs up. I place my hand on his arm, making him jump a bit. When he notices it’s me a smile creeps upon his face. But almost as quickly as it came, it fades, as he begins to throw up on the back lawn.
“Shit, Calum” I say backing up a bit, all the people that were around us begin to disperse.
“Come on, Cal. I think you’ve had enough for one night.” I say when he is finished, grabbing his arm. “Let’s get you upstairs.”
I lead him through the house, running into many bodies on the way there. I feel another arm grab onto mine. When I turn around Luke is standing there with a worried look on his face.
“What happened?” Luke asks gesturing to Calum.
“He is beyond drunk, and he just threw up all over the back yard” I explain.
“Do you want me to take him?”
“No, It’s fine. I’ve got it” I assure him before walking towards the stairs.
I take Calum up the stairs and down the hall to his room. When I get in there, a guy is sitting on the floor with a bottle of vodka, rummaging through Calum’s things.
“Get out” I demand, surprising the boy. He quickly stands up and leaves me and Calum in the room without a second glance. I shut the door behind him, so no one will bother Calum.
“Come on, you need to lay down, Cal” I say leading him over to the bed, but he doesn’t move.
“You know, you’re really beautiful” Calum slurs.
“and you’re really drunk” I laugh.
“No, I mean, you are the type of beautiful that just can’t be overlooked” He rambles.
“Come on, Cal, you’re really wasted” I say trying to pull him over to the bed, but he has a different idea. Suddenly his lips are pressed against mine.
