Recap:
Talia sat up with a gasp and groaned as her eyes adjusted to the dark. She shook her head gingerly, which felt heavy and sore.
"What happened?" Talia asked softly.
"You've been through the wars, love,"
"Nik?"
"Nope."
Talia looked up and frowned, "who is it? Who are you?"
All of a sudden, the light had been turned on. "Welcome home, my love."
Talia's eyes widened. "Shit. It's you. All this time, it's been you."
"You remember me. I am flattered."
******
"How- how could you?" Talia was struggling to keep calm as she fought back angry tears. "How could you... you- you groomed me... you used and you groomed me."
"Oh please, don't start with the dramatics.. now when we have other things to talk about, beloved."
"You... used me." Talia closed her eyes and scoffed softly. "All those months, I thought of you as a friend... an ally. Family."
"You're not really gonna go on, are you?"
"You disgust me." Talia spat at the floor. narrowly missing their feet. "You are scum!"
"I ought to cut your tongue out, you little wench."
"Shut the fuck up." Talia snarled as angry tears now began to fall down her face. "How could you? I looked up to you as a fucking mentor!"
"Oh, whatever."
"No! Not whatever! How can you be so fucking blasé about it?! You're family!" Talia screamed as she tried to get out of the restraints behind her back. "You're supposed to be my fucking family and all this time, it was you?!"
"Are you gonna keep going on about it?"
"Don't try to-"
"Hush."
Talia stopped and her eyes bulged as she began to choke.
"Hm... you're a beautiful shade of purple. That ought to do it." They stooped down in front of Talia, whose blood vessels were bursting in her eyes. "Ahhh. That's better."
After what seemed like a lifetime to Talia, there was a click and she gasped for air, grateful for small mercy.
"Dare to speak to me like that again and you'll be forced to rip your own tongue out... with your bare hands... do you understand me?
Talia closed her eyes and nodded.
"Oh, by the way," there was a cruel chuckle, "before you think yourself an escape artist, no magic here. It's... magic proof."
Talia exhaled softly, not giving up.
"Oh, come on, you're not still sulking about my involvement?"
"Just... do you have any idea how much your betrayal hurts?" Talia asked softly. "I trusted you. Loved you as one of my own and yet-"
"You have no idea how much I know about betrayal."
"There's a hint of sadness in your voice..." Talia was surprised and she stopped struggling.
"Pfft, sure,"
Talia chuckled. "You don't have to put a wall up. After all, I always looked up to you."
"Stop. Just... stop."
