Recap:
"Where were you then? You can't have been with Rebekah. Elijah isn't in town, not that you'd have any reason to be with him. Kol isn't your type. Not that you'd go anywhere near a Mikaelson."
"Nope." Talia chuckled.
"Maybe you were with Klaus." Matt snorted and chuckled. "Nah, you'd have to be stupid - no, absolutely brain dead to fancy Klaus."
"Right?!" Talia laughed "I'd never be with any of the Mikaelsons, least of all Klaus,"
"Good," Matt said seriously, "because I'd kill you myself and then disown you."
Talia chuckled nervously.
"So," she changed the subject as fast as she could without arousing suspicion, "where are we eating?"
As she listened to Matt drone on about the new place that had opened, Talia's heart thudded as she thought about Klaus. Feeling tingles, she bit her lips to stop herself from smiling.
Chapter 70:
"I'm sorry, Klaus, but it's over," Talia said sadly. She looked at him and sighed. "This...us, the whole thing, it was a mistake." After a pause, Talia turned away. "I can't. We can't. I shouldn't be with you. You're not a good person, Klaus. You're a monster...you destroy everything that's good." Talia turned her back against Klaus. "I should've listened to my brain."
Klaus watched Talia's back shake as if she was crying.
"I can't be with you, Klaus, please understand that."
Klaus nodded. He walked a couple of yards before stopping and looking at her.
"Hm, you're pretty convincing, love."
Talia spun around and smiled.
"Really? Do you think she'll believe our so called break up?"
"Turn on the waterworks again and I don't see why not." Klaus kissed Talia's forehead lightly and sped them against a tree.
"Ooh," Talia giggled. "You sure do love your trees."
"I still liked my idea better," Klaus murmured as his eyes sparkled.
"No, you can't kill her. She's Tyler's friend and we just can't..."
"He'll get over it," Klaus murmured as he kissed Talia's jawline.
"You mean like he's getting over me?" Talia giggled. "Yeah, right. You should've seen him yesterday."
Klaus froze mid kiss. "What do you mean?"
"I... nothing." Talia smiled.
"I can compel you, love," Klaus smirked.
"Fine. Fine, yesterday, the friendsgiving dinner at Caroline's house was awkward, to say the least. First of all, I ended up seated between Tyler and Jeremy. From there, there was projectile vomiting, a nosebleed and a declaration of undying love."
Klaus' eyebrows were raised.
*flashback to yesterday*
Talia took her seat and attempted a small smile at Matt, who was sitting opposite her.
"Chill, Talia," Matt laughed, "you look like you're at your own funeral." When Talia failed to at least chuckle, Matt leaned forward. "Hey, are you okay? You don't look so good."
Bonnie, who was next to Matt, looked at Talia, concerned. "Matt's right, you're looking a little peaky."
"I'm okay, just coming down with something," Talia sniffed to prove her point.
