Chapter 24: Disappearing Acts.

Mere seconds later, Elena came and she was giggling, attempting to fight Stefan off, who was cuddling her. Elena stopped in her tracks and her mouth fell open. "Isobel."

Talia's heart skipped a beat. "What?"

"Talia! Where are the pizzas? A man can starve around here," Alaric's stopped in his tracks as his eyes fell on Isobel. He glanced at his daughter, who was staring at Isobel in shock.

Isobel was looking at Talia with tears in her eyes. "My beautiful Talia."

"No." Talia whispered.

"My little girl," Isobel made to embrace her.

"No," Talia was more forceful as her eyes teared up.

"Sweetie," Alaric began, but Talia pushed past Isobel as she ran out of the house.

The others were too shocked to follow her and Alaric stared at his former wife, the past 17 years of anger, grief and sadness coming back to haunt him.

Chapter 24:

It was almost midnight and Talia was walking away from all that she knew. She ignored the incessant ringing of her phone and attempted to shut the world out. "Why? After all these years? Why now?" Talia was stunned that she saw her mum, angry that her mum didn't recognise her and upset that her mother had never made the first move all these years ago. How could she recognise me when she hasn't seen me for 1 years?

Talia sighed as she came across a huge bridge. She looked at the sign and saw it was Wickery Bridge, where she and Elena has crashed their car. Feeling a shiver across her spine, she looked around before walking slowly towards the bridge. Standing right in the middle of the bridge, she looked at the dark water and focused on the way it rippled in the wind. Tyler had only been gone a few hours but she was missing him already. Talia pulled her phone out and decided to text him. But upon seeing many missed calls and texts, she was astonished as more messages came through. She had only been out for almost two hours, yet it didn't seem like it. 

Hey, sweetie. I'm worried. Please let us know you're safe.

Tal! Where are you? Stefan and I are getting worried.

Hey, kid. You okay? Come to the Boarding House. Text me if you need a chauffeur. 

Talia, Elena told us your mom came. I'm here at your place if you wanna talk hun. C xx ❤❤❤

Talia sighed and after texting everyone, I'm ok. Need time to think, she put her phone on silence and shoved it in her pocket as she stared at the water.

Alaric's POV:

When I saw Isobel, I thought it was an illusion of some kind. Why was she here? After 17 years? I knew Damon had killed her, but he clearly failed to mention to me that she was turned.
