Recap:

*Talia, walking along a dimly lit country road*

"Hopefully I'll be dead before he does that." Talia's voice shook. She remembered how she and Klaus had promised each other they would always tell one another everything. "It's temporary. Just until after the moon ends. Plus, we don't even know if it'll happen as I need to find that rare as fuck herb. So there's no point telling Klaus when it might not even happen..."

*Stefan, at a payphone*

"You don't sound convinced yourself. Look," Stefan spoke. "Klaus loves you. You love him. So why don't you tell him? This isn't the way to do it."

*Talia, walking along a dimly lit country road*

"It's not forever. It will be 2 weeks, 3 max. You won't even know I'm gone."

*Stefan, at a payphone*

"Yeah, right," Stefan's voice was thick. "Please change your mind."

*Talia, walking along a dimly lit country road*

"I would if I could, but this is the only way," Talia sighed. There was a bang in the distance and Talia stopped walking. "Hey... I'll call you back." Talia held her breath and was about to murmur an incantation to hide her presence when she heard another bang. She looked around for somewhere to hide. The barn. Withing seconds, Talia walked into the barn and hid behind a stack of hay. She waited. This could be it.

Chapter 101:

"Talia?" Stefan was now seriously worried. He slammed the phone back into the wall and sped off to find Klaus before Talia did something she would regret.

In the barn, Talia remained frozen to the spot, crouched behind a truck. She was about to move lower when someone had walked outside the barn. Wild thoughts began to float around in her mind; had she just walked into something she might not be able to walk out of? Was it a trap?

Seconds later, Talia had an idea, but before she could think again, she heard another set of footsteps, heavier than the first. She was not able to make her mind up. Should she hide and pray they wouldn't walk in, or should she be brave and if needed, use her powers against them?

"Okay, breathe." Talia murmured to herself. "You've maneuvered bigger sharks than this. You'll b-" Talia stopped; the door opened and the unmistakable glare of a torch flitted around the room. In an effort to hide behind a tractor, Talia accidentally stepped on a trowel. There was a loud clatter and Talia blinked hard in the harsh torchlight that was suddenly in her face. "What-" Talia raised her hand and fiery sparks flew out of her fingers.

"Watch it, Sammy!"

"Whoa whoa, stop, don't shoot, it's a girl!" The taller of the two men realised he was too late; a shot had been fired straight into Talia's chest, causing her to fall back into stack of the hay. He rushed forward to check on her, but only managed a couple of steps.

Talia gasped as she began to feel her chest. To her confusion, there was no blood on her hands. "Wh-"

"What the hell..." the shorter of the two men murmured as he stepped closer towards Talia.

"You're not bleeding." Sam murmured.

"Did you just-" Talia grunted as she stood up.

The two men exchanged a look. "You're- there's no blood."

"Nevermind mind that, who are you?" Talia stopped brushing the hay off herself and look at the two men. "How did you know I was here? Why did you shoot me?"
