Chapter 19 is done :) sorry for the delay. My face swelled up and I've been poorly :/
Recap:
"I'm off to bed now," Talia smiled. "Don't worry, I won't trip into anything!"
"Come on," Jeremy held his hand out, "I'll walk up with you."
"Thanks!" Talia smiled. Once she was in her room, she washed her head and hair which was matted in blood. "All done," Talia smiled at Jeremy. Once Jeremy was sure that Talia was okay, he left.
Talia exhaled and got into bed, the headache now fading. She began to fall asleep. In her subconscious, she recalled how the ghost lady was dressed in white, as if she was wearing a wedding dress. Talia turned in her sleep, trying to focus on the ghost woman. Giving up, Talia let everything go and sighed.
She did not mention seeing the weird ghost figure to anyone and she wasn't going to anytime soon.
Chapter 19:
It was only afternoon and Talia was tucked up in the living room, watching an episode of The Simpsons and drinking Ribena. She woke up a couple of hours ago and missed the others going into school and work. Jenna phoned every hour to see if Talia needed anything and Alaric was to visit during the lunch hour, where he'd have a free period just after lunch too.
Today was the last day of school before the two weeks holidays and Talia was happy about the holidays. Back home, she dreaded being stuck at home as it meant she would be beaten and abused. Talia still felt queasy at the memories from England but she was not going to let the Robinsons affect her life anymore. The house phone rang and Talia got up, throwing her warm cashmere blanket off of her.
"Hello,"
"Hello, Elena," a female raspy voice spoke.
"Uh. This isn't Elena. She's not at home. Can I take a message?" Talia asked politely.
There was a seductive chuckle on the other end of the phone before the woman spoke, "tell Elena Katherine says hello."
"Kathe-?" Talia gritted her teeth annoyed, the woman had cut the call off. Katherine who? She mentally told herself to remember the message for Elena and walked into the kitchen. Her head buried in the fridge, Talia heard the front door close and immediately shut the fridge door. She walked out of the kitchen and saw her dad, who was carrying a box of takeaway food. "Please tell me you have food?"
"I sure do! How you feeling now, kiddo?"
"Yeah I'm a lot better than yesterday. My headache has gone so I'm good. I might pop over to the boarding house later on. You know, see Lexi. Damn." Talia sat down at the table. "I need to see Rebekah too," Talia muttered as she groaned. When she saw Alaric looked a little confused, she elaborated "she knows that I know she's a vampire. So we'll probably have an awkward talk."
"Oh," Alaric pulled the food out of the brown bag. Talia could smell lasagne and her mouth watered slightly. The father and daughter duo ate their food and when it was time for Alaric to go back to school, Talia decided to come in for the last two periods.
"You sure?" Alaric asked.
"Yup, there's only so much daytime TV I can watch! I just need to get changed." A few minutes later, Talia was back. "I'm ready. Oh, I need to take my tablet." Talia walked to the fridge and poured herself some water before taking a tablet.
Minutes later, Alaric and Talia were in the car. Just as Alaric was about to start the car, Jenna called. "Hey, honey. How are you feeling? How does chicken soup with crusty bread rolls sound? All shop bought, of course!"
