Chapter 1.
The sun rose from behind the hills as birds began to sing. The village was starting to awaken as shops began to open, and people began to get out of bed. A new day had dawned.
One such man was Adam Watcher. A young, twenty three year old cashier at the local supermarket. He was fairly tall, 5,7, and had a bit of a skinny frame along with golden blonde hair and green eyes and a medium complexion. He wore blue denim jeans, with a hole in the left knee, a pair of black boots, a blue shirt with a yellow lighting bolt on one side and a black jacket. He smiled as he walked to the mirror and combed his messy hair. He hated messy hair, especially his own, as it showed you were unkempt. He had a certain amount of pride in his appearance.
He washed his face in the sink and sighed. A new day and he had to go to work, on a Saturday, because one of the people who was supposed to work today was sick. He was hoping to have the day off and work on his idea. A time machine.
He was a casual inventor, an amateur at best, but he was passionate. He knew he had an idea and he wanted to see it through. Even though he was sure he didn't have the right items for the machine. And, even if he did get it working, he wasn't sure where or when he would want to travel to first. That's why he worked at the supermarket. To make money so he could buy things for his real passion. A passion that, at the moment, was just a hobby.
He grabbed his work uniform and shoved it in to his backpack. He'd get changed at work as he always did. No point getting it mucky on the way there. He grabbed his keys and walked out the door on to his front garden. He shut and locked the door of his two bedroom flat and smiled. A few hours at work and then back here.
Little did he know, however, that he would not get to work today.
