Chapter 36.

The guards grabbed Adam by the arms and dragged him away. He didn't try to fight at all, he knew it was pointless to resist. He was outnumbered and outmatched. Even if the guards weren't strong enough to beat him that didn't mean the other villagers were. He didn't know how many there was but he assumed their number was in the double digits, at the minimum.

Soon the other villagers were coming out of their houses and on to the street. They were whispering to themselves about the new visitor. They wondered how he had entered, where did he come from, why was he here and other various questions that they didn't know the answer to. One of them walked over to Adam and spat at him. He then walked off and laughed as he did.

They went down a tunnel. It was dark. Adam could not see anything in front of him, but the guards seemed to do just fine. They turned left and right abruptly. Each turn they were heading towards some new destination. Adam thought about what might happen next. Would he be held captive? or would he be made into a slave? or would he just be killed? He wasn't sure but he knew he would not go down easily. That was for certain.

They eventually came to a room. It had black walls and the floor was the same. There were candles hanging on the walls. The room had some light but not much. It wasn't enough to see, but not too much that it would hurt the peoples eyes. The guards threw Adam down to the ground. They walked out and locked the door behind them, leaving Adam alone.

Some time passed and the door opened. Adam looked up and saw the people entering. The two guards from before followed behind a creature. He looked like the others, but more regal. His body was fairly toned, not too big or too small, and he stood at least six foot tall. His eyes were fairly small as well and his head had long white hair that flowed down to his shoulders. He walked over to Adam and smalled.

"Hello there, Human, welcome to The Underground."
