Chapter 52.

"Charles! I've come to battle you!" Shouted Adam, as he walked through the door, he knife in his right hand. He walked with courage and determination. He was not going to turn back. He was going to face this "final challenge" head on.

The leader turned around, he was sitting upon a rock, and he looked at Adam. He had a look of surprise upon his face. He was certainly not expecting Adam to come to him.

"Battle me? That's not a wise course of action." He spoke with a calm tone of voice, trying not to show his surprise, "You will probably die. But, if that's what you want." He stood up and drew his sword. It was a small, short blade. The blade was only one foot long, the handle was of medium size and wrapped in some brown cloth. It was a simple blade, for a much simpler time.

Charles rushed towards Adam, he wanted to get this over with quickly. No toying with his enemy. He knew that would be a mistake. It had cost him in the Formation Wars. He swung his sword horizontally and repeated the motion. Adam dodged each slash and jumped backwards each time. He realised he was getting closer to the wall. He'd be pinned and that could get him killed. He dodged left and rolled over to a small rock. He sighed.

Adam began to fumble behind him. He was hoping to find some sharp object to use. More weapons would help. His hands stumbled upon a rock. He smiled and grabbed it. It was a small black coloured rock. Smooth to the touch.

Adam grabbed the rock and threw it as hard as he could. It flew through the air with precision and struck Charles in the eye. He screamed with anger. He looked up at Adam, his right eye now bleeding heavily. Rage was formed clearly upon his face. He wiped his eye and then, with a very large smile upon his face, he calmly said, "I'll kill you. After you suffer the greatest of torture."
