Chapter 15.

Adam rushed to Luna's aid. He grabbed his knife and thrust it into the beasts arm. He took his left hand and grabbed Luna's arm. He knew she might be dragged in but he might just be heavy enough to stop her falling in. He stabbed the beast's arm again and it let out a scream. It was a booming sound, loud and threatening, almost like a loud drum. The creature pulled it's hand away and snarled at Adam and stared into his eyes. Adam shook his head, it was almost like it was looking into his mind. Trying to work him out.

The creature ran back down into the cave. Adam caught a glimpse of it's foot and it's hand from earlier. They were pale and hairless. The hands looked dirty and gnarled, like they worked underground, and the feet were bare and dirty. The oddest thing about the feet was the size. Unlike the Angels, and their small feet, the creature's feet seemed large. Almost apelike in appearance.

"Are you ok?" Asked Adam, as he pulled Luna away from the hole. He knew how terrifying this experience could be for her. He was scared as well. His hands trembled a little bit as he held her. Trying to look brave was hard. Especially when he didn't know what that creature was.

Luna hugged him tight. She was silent. Her body was shaking. Even she was not sure what that creature was. All she knew, was that it was dangerous. Maybe even more dangerous than the beast they usually see.

Adam stood up slowly. He had to get her back safely. They walked slowly and carefully back to the base. The home of the angels. A safe haven. It was said that the Angels found that place many many years ago. How many years, was unknown. That information was lost in time. Not even the Angels were sure of when they found it.

Soon they returned. And all hell broke lose upon Adam. Many of the angels rushed to their aid. Luna was still shaken from her experience. They hugged her and took her into a corner for safety. She slowly but surely explained what happened.

The Leader grew angry. He threw a stone at the wall and then, without warning, threw another at Adam.

"What was that for?" He asked, dodging the stone.

"You have brought trouble upon us. From the moment you appeared!" Shouted the Leader. Some of the Angels cowered in fear. They had never seen him angry before.

"I'm sorry for what's happened." Began Adam, "But this was not my fault. Luna followed me!" He was trying to defend himself but to no avail.

"Be silent! I have had enough of you!" Shouted the Leader, "I forbid you from returning to us! Go live out there in the wild!" He shouted.
