Talking Through Time

Part 21

Chapter 21.

  The creature smiled at Adam, as it walked slowly towards him. It's eyes were red and looked very angry. It was a human shaped creature, it stood six feet tall and look quite skinny. It was as hairy as a gorilla and maybe just as strong as one. It's stance was slouched over with it's arms hanging in front of it. Adam thought it looked like a zombie. It's mouth was almost human, except it had very sharp teeth and was clearly a carnivore.

  It lunged at Adam. Adam dodged out the way and landed on the bed. He drew his knife and prepared himself. He wondered what the creature was, but, he knew there was more important things at hand.

  "If you want to eat me, you'll have to work for your dinner." Spoke Adam, as he slowly climbed off the bed, "And I won't be afraid to attack you!" He knew this was a life or death situation. His heart was beating quickly as his adrenaline started.

  The creature growled at him. It seemed to accept his challenge and it turned around slowly. It licked it's lips as it stared at Adam. Adam thought he could see it working out how it was going to eat him. He shuddered at the thought. They both stared at each other. Waiting to see who would make the first move.

 The creature smiled again. It began to speak.

  "You are a human." It said, it's speech was slow and careful. It seemed to not speak very well.

  Adam took a step back in surprise. He was not expecting the creature to speak, never mind know he was a human. He stood with his blade in his hand, "Yes. How did you know that?" He asked, as he raised an eyebrow with interest.

  The creature looked at him. It seemed to be thinking of the words to say. It then spoke, "Because I was a human. Before my current form."
