Chapter 4.
Adam smiled as he connected the gold watch to his time machine. It was a simple looking thing. It was a small rectangle shaped box, made out of metal welded and screwed into place. He reasoned metal would be sturdier than wood. He screwed a sign on the front of the door that said "Nice Ride". it was for flavour, he told himself.
On the inside he clamped a steel chair down in front of his computer desk. It was wired up to various other components, with the watch at the centre of it all. He also put up a post of his hero, Robin Hood, up on the wall. He always wanted to be someone like him. A man who helps the poor and the helpless. But unfortunately he could now use a bow an arrow to save his life.
During the summer holidays, his father took him camping one time. Adam was eleven years old at the time. His father was a great man. The sort of man who liked going camping, fixing things, working on cars and all sort of manly endeavours. He made Adam join him because it would be a good bonding experience.
One day they went to the archery range. Adam was worried. He didn't know if he could do it. His father was confident in his son and showed him how to do it. Grabbing an arrow, placed it within the bow and pulled back the string. He aimed for a bulls eye and, with one shot, got it. Adam was amazed and wanted to have a try. He did the same as his dad and, as he took a step back, he fell and let the arrow fly.
Suddenly, there was a scream. Adam looked up to see his dad on the floor, with an arrow in his leg, and threw the bow down. Blood spilled out from the wound as first aiders came to help.
Adam shook his head as he focused on his mission. To activate his time machine.
"But wait, It needs a name" He thought to himself, as he pressed the buttons to activate it, "Something good. Something powerful. Something meaningful." He thought careful as he shut the door. A name of importance. He thought of it as he sat down and smiled.
Speaking out loud, he named his time machine. He pulled a level down as the machine started to vanish. "I shall call it: The Blue Archer." And with that.....he began his journey through time.
