Talking Through Time

Part 38

Chapter 38.

 "You're Charles? the one who started the war? But how? That was years ago. You should be dead by now?" Spoke Adam, skeptically.

  Charles nodded and began to explain, "My name is no longer Charles. I took the name Sir Forward during the war. I was the man who drove our armies forward. We crushed the enemy. Until the bombs were dropped and changed us." He looked at his hand, "We changed. Everyone did, young and old, rich and poor, innocent and guilty. They turned us into this."

  A guard spat at Adam. He did not like the human. Charles ordered the guard to stop. He wanted his "guest" to be treated with some level of respect.

  He then continued his explanation, "I changed into the form you see me now. I was shocked and confused. How did this happen? i wanted answer so i went, somewhere, anywhere i could. I looked in a mirror and saw my face. I cried.  I was a monster. But i discovered over the many years, that i did not age. Or if i did it was very slowly." He turned around and looked behind him, almost as if he was looking at his past self, "I lived for a long time. I decided to search for people. Like me, or others, and i found these people. They looked the same as me. I made myself their leader. Someone had to."

  Adam looked up and asked, "So, why did you kill The Angels? And where's Luna?"

  Charles just smirked, a smirk of confidence, "I had them killed because they were the descendants of the ones who dropped that bomb and changed us into who we are. They had to be eliminated. But we didn't know where they were. Until you and "Luna" appeared near our hole. You could say you made this happen. We would never have gone up if you didn't arrive. I was once human and i know what one looks like. Unlike The Angels they don't know about the war. They know stories of it but that's all it is to them. It's all a story. I know the truth."

  Adam stood in shock. It WAS his fault. Everything that had happened was his fault. From the moment he arrived, he had set a chain of events into motion. Events with terrible consequences. The guards dropped him to the ground as he lay on the ground in realisation.

  Charles walked out of the room, but he turned around and said, " Your friend is down here with us. next to your little prison." He then stood in front of the door and said, "My name i now have is Moleman Shade, The Eternal Leader."  The door then closed upon Adam.
