Talking Through Time

Part 54

Chapter 54.

  Adam fell to the floor and sighed heavily. It was over. He had stopped Charles. But at what cost? He had got rid of a group's leader. What if they tried to attack Luna? He had to somehow stop that from happening.

  A few minutes passed as he rested. Two days of adventure and he head learned so much. How the world might change into a dark, humans would change forms because of a war and unresolved issues. He wanted to make a difference in this world. A better one.

  He stood up and ran outside. He headed towards the village and, as he got there, he saw the villagers hunting for him. They were unaware of what had happened. He was glad. Seeing a house he jumped up on top of it and shouted, "Listen to me!"

  Everyone stopped what they were doing. Each looked at him in shock. A few made their way towards him.

  "Stop where you are!" He shouted, with his arms raised, "I have killed your leader. And i could also kill you." He saw everyone's shocked expressions, "But i will not. And do know why?"

  "Why?" Called out one of the villagers.

  "Because i have a deal for you. If you do not harm anyone else outside of these caves, i will spare you. If you do harm anyone, i'll know and i will come back to punish you." Adam's words instilled fear into the people. He smiled and climbed down. Each of them parted away from him and he glared back at them as he walked away. His message got through.

  Soon he met up with Luna. They walked outside and headed towards the time machine. Adam explained what it was and where he was from, as best he could. Luna tried to understand, but some of the concepts were beyond her.

  "Are you going to be ok? "Asked Adam, as he hugged her. He did not want to leave her alone. But he had to get back home.

  Luna nodded andkissed him on the cheek, "Everything will be ok. I'm sure of it. And..." She stopped and picked up a flower from nearby, "Take this as a gift. I will never forget you." She ran back to the temple, she turned and waved to him. Adam waved back and put the flower in his pocket.

  Within his time machine. he set the time and date to back to his time. He was going to try and help change the world. Somehow either avert the future he saw, or at least make it better for the people of the future.

  He landed back home and, as soon as he did, he destroyed the time machine. It was too dangerous for anyone, even for him. He sighed happily as he did it. No "evil" could get it. Not from him.

  He then looked outside and it was all the same as before. He smiled. An adventure had ended. But he was goint to make a change to the world.
