Chapter 39.

Adam stared into the ground. His whole worldview had been shattered. He thought that the creatures were just that, creatures. He knew they had been human but he thought they didn't really remember that much of the past. That they didn't live through it.

He was surprised at "Charles" as well. He was the one who had started the whole Formation Wars in the first place. He was the cause of the suffering that thousands of people had. And he was the one who killed the Angels. He murdered them. For some unknown reason.

"The war, the death, the Angels, everything was his fault." He said, as he punched the ground in anger.

But he was in denial to himself. The war was certainly Charles' fault. But the rest, wasn't. Adam was the one who travelled to the future and that was the catalyst that made everything over the past two days happen. He greeted the Angels and that lead to Luna following him. And that eventually lead the underground ones coming up and killing them. And it was his being here that lead to him being exiled and because he wasn't there, for that moment, he couldn't protect anyone from death. He was mostly to blame for what happened.

He told himself that after he got back, he would destroy the time machine. The pwoer was too great and the possibility of it being used in the wrong hands was far too great. If someone with as good intentions, like him, could cause this much trouble then how much could someone with bad intentions cause?

He stood up. He knew he had to save Luna, that was the least he could do, He had ot make it up to her somehow.

He smiled to himself, the guards had not taken any of his stuff. He had to come up with an escape plan. And he had to do it fast.
