Chapter 11.
They were called Angels. Adam was intrigued, and at the same time confused, as to why they called themselves that. As far as he saw, there was no pictures of angels anywhere in the building. He wondered if it was some kind of nickname, or maybe a name that some other being gave them.
Luna stopped and smiled. It was a half smile, like she did it to show she was happy, even though she wasn't. The other members of her tribe stood behind her. They were obviously still scared of Adam and he knew it. He had to find a way to show that he wasn't here to harm them.
"I won't hurt you." He said, as he held his arms up in the air.
The leader looked up at him and hit his leg, "I don't know. You could be tricking us. After all, you did something with the beast." The others began to murmur behind him. They were saying how scary it was that Adam had somehow got the beast to run away. They couldn't work out what he did, or how he did it.
Adam looked down at them and tried to make a deal, "I won't hurt you. I'll do what you say. Take me to where you live and I'll not hurt you. I will just sit in the corner if you want me to." He was hoping this would work. Not only did he want to get them trust him, he was also curious as to where they lived.
The leader turned around and walked forward, he then stopped in the middle of his people and pointed ahead. The others followed.
"Come on! You can follow us!" Spoke Luna, as she ran ahead. Her arms spread out like an plane. She was pretending to fly. Adam smiled to himself and walked with them. Keeping distance as not to scare them, but close enough so he didn't get lost. He walked through the rooms he had walked through earlier. They went into the first room he entered and then entered a small tunnel. He was just small enough to enter. It was dark and long. He felt like a blind rat in a maze.
Eventually they came to an exit up ahead. He sighed with relief. He was starting to wonder if he would ever escape the tunnel.
As he stood up, he stretched his legs and rubbed his knees. They were sore and ached after all that crawling. He was glad he wasn't a baby.
He looked up and saw the Angels abode.
