Chapter 6.
Looked out of the doorway he saw a purple mist surrounding his time machine. It was about a foot or two away from him and he knew that if he wanted to see where he was, he would have to walk through it. Unsure of what it would do to him, he cautiously walked towards it. As he did, a number of thoughts passed through his mind.
What would it do to him? and what would it feel like? He also wondered if it might even kill him, or injure him, or worse. But, on the other hand, he hoped that it would help him in someway. Maybe immunity to viruses, super strength, super speed, super endurance, super hearing or some other useful skill. Or maybe it would do nothing.
When he passed through, he felt a tingling sensation through his entire body. Like being shocked with a small amount of electricity or when your leg goes numb after you have been lying on it and it tingles when you move it.
"Well that was...odd." He said to himself, as he checked his body for any noticeable injuries. There were none. He didn't feel any different either. "Now, let's get a look at surrounding area."
The land was almost empty. There were a number of small hills nearby and off in the distance all covered in fresh green grass. Running across the grass he saw small, squirrel like creatures and rat like creatures chasing them. He was both amazed and worried. They were both the size of house cats and, for him at least, that would cause considerable harm to his legs.
He then looked up and saw a large building in front of him. It was made out of white stone, marble probably, with green vines growing on it in various places. It was also fairly clean for what seemed to be an old building. Walking up to it he saw a sign. It read "Moon Temple". It seemed to be a place of worship, or was. He walked in through the entrance way.
Within the building stood white walls. The ceiling was being held up by pillars with golden bands around the top and bottom. The curtains were red in colour and hanging off the windows and the walls, with tears in places, and some paintings of various animals he did not recognise.
He walked further into the hallway and, even there, it was a similar scene. He saw the odd chair and table but nothing else. He wandered into what seemed like a dining room and, even there, it was both ruined and deserted.
Suddenly, a thought dawned on him. He had not seen a single person. a couple of animals yes, but no humans. If he was in the future, which he was, then shouldn't there be people around? Even if something had happened, he had hoped they would have come out to see what all the fuss was about when a weird machine appeared.
As he pondered this, he heard a noise behind him. Turning around, he saw a small creature. It looked up at him.
