Chapter 5.
Adam felt a strange energy emanating from outside. It felt like The Blue Archer was being shaken as if it was a bottle of milk. He looked at his computer screen and opened up a camera from the back on the time machine, which he encased in metal for protection and decided to get a view of where he was.
The time machine was travel through what seemed to be a tunnel. The area was a swirl of purple and grey colour, almost like clouds. There were lightning bolts every so often and a loud noise that sounded like the gears of a car grinding together. It was an alien landscape that could only have been expected while travelling through time. The unknown landscape was also terrifying. There was also visions of various people, presumably from different era's of time. And many different alternate universe's.
Feeling he was just drifting through time, Adam decided to type in a destination. He wasn't sure where, or when, he wanted to go. He thought about what the past might be like. It would be very different to his time and, because of history lessons, it would be sort of familiar. Of course he would have to go to a time that he actually knew about. No point going to Ancient Greece when he doesn't even know the history, or the language.
But the future was just as scary. He knew nothing about what might have happened and, even if he did, how would he navigate the social conditions?. He also didn't know anything about where to go either. But the more he thought about it, and he thought about it for a good five minutes, the more the future felt compelling. The unknown intrigued him.
"I've made up my mind!" He said to himself, "Onward, to the future! I'll have no fear, no regrets! This is what I have to do." He input some numbers and slammed his level down on his machine and he was whisked away to the future. He checked his weapons, to make sure, and he was ready.
The Blue Archer landed softly upon the ground. Adam turned it off and, grabbing his key for the door, he stood up. He was nervous. What brave new world would he find himself it? Would it be a sort of utopia, or some kind of nightmare land? What kind of people would live there? He was curious.
He sighed and then took a deep breath. He opened the door, and he saw the land before him. And gasped.
