For about a month, life is boring.
the same simple routine happens over and over and over again. School, ULTRA, music, visiting the Tomorrow People, repeat.
Though a few cool things happened; I dyed my bangs blue, I got a few more piercings in the cartilage of my ear, I learned some new powers (fire, water, light and time-freezing). But that's what scares me, no one else can do this stuff, and I get that I'm a Synergist and all, but how...???
Anyways...
A knock comes at my door causing me to stop strumming my guitar abruptly. "Come in." I allow. Steven saunters into my room, kissing my forehead and sitting beside me.
Did I fail to mention that we're basically dating? Yeaaa.....
"I... um... did something." he starts. I look at him curiously.
Spit it out, idiot. I think.
"I told Astrid about ULTRA and... and all of it..." he says. I sigh and put my head in my hands, shaking my head. "What was I supposed to do? She was freaking out at me so..." he drifts off. "So you reacted." I nod.
"Do you realise what ULTRA's gonna do when they find out?" I ask gently. He sighs and looks down. "Well... they won't." I state. He looks up at me.
"Exactly." he says. "There's another thing..." he says. I look into his eyes. "My moms boyfriend-" I cut him off. "The one you think is a Tomorrow person?" I ask. He nods. "Anyway... he wants to bring us on a camping trip. I leave tomorrow. I want you and John to watch Astrid for me. He doesnt know Im asking you too. Keep an eye on them. BOTH of them." he states. I nod.

The next day, he's about to leave when I get there. I throw myself into his arms, hugging him. "I miss you already." I say into his shirt.
"I miss you too." he responds. I pull back looking into his eyes. I'm about to say more, when his brother yells from the car "HURRY UP LOVER-BOY!!!" He just rolls his eyes and sighs. "I'll be fine. I promise." he says, kissing me on the forehead one last time and then jogging over to his car.
I watch as the car leaves. Then, after I check to see if anyone's watching (no one is) I teleport away. I land in my room, flopping on my bed.... though it doesn't feel like my bed... it's warm... soft, but not blanket soft... smooth...
and it grunted when I landed on it.
I flip over, coming face to face with John.
"What the heck are you doing here?" I whisper. He just smirks, obviously proud of himself. I smack his arm, a little too hard I suppose, 'cause he winced. "Nice to see you too." he says. "Oh come on... you know I love you and I'm happy you're alive and all, but aren't you supposed to be in a stolen hotel room with Cara somewhere?" I ask. He looks at me funny. "How did you-" he starts. "You're secret's out." I smirk, cutting him off.
I get off of my brother and in less than 5 minutes, we're sitting on my bed with mugs of hot chocolate and blueberry muffins.
"So Steven asked you to protect Astrid, eh? Shouldn't you be doing that right now?" I ask. "Okay... are you stalking me or something? How do you know all these things?" He asks. I shrug. "My powers are getting stronger." I state. He shrugs too. "And Steven told me." I finish. "Why would he... ohhh.... failsafe. I get it." I nod.
"So how's my-" I start but then I get a huge headache and start feeling like I'm drifting. I feel like i'm going through other people's minds, sorting, drifting. I hear John yelling my name but it sounds... far away. Kind of muffled.
I close my eyes and just drift. I feel myself saying the words, but I can't hear them. My mouth's moving but I don't hear the words I'm saying.
What the heck?
