Minato's POV
I didn't think it would be that bad.
But, I was wrong. I miscalculated things.
I understand Takiya's hatred at some point.
I found some records in my grandfather's files regarding his family and my own.
Takiya Izumi..
He used to play with Megumi a lot when we were kids. His parents were close friends with my parents too. They were so close that our mothers and grandfathers actually discussed about getting them to marry each other when they grow up. Both the Mirai and Takiya family are one of the main original families of the village for many generations, after all.
But, I guess this is why modern families should never match up their kids that early because.. Things change.
I waited until I saw Takiya walk back into his house before moving out.
I already checked the maps. If I go up the slopes where he always go to, I would reach an area just slightly outside of the Mirai family's land.
No wonder he's so brave to go up there. Even when it's almost night fall.
The wolf pack doesn't hunt in that certain area.
I went through the small hole in the fence. The first thing I saw were footprints in the mud. His footprint were slightly smaller than mine. Even if I use them to cover my footprint, it would still sell me out since my shoe size were bigger.
I jumped up one of the trees that lined the area and jumped onto the next until I reached the place where the soil was no longer muddy.
I landed swiftly onto the ground. I looked back just to make sure I didn't do any mistakes.
If he finds out that I'm investigating him, he would probably hate Megumi even more.
There's more reasons to me being on this case than just his hatred towards Megumi though.
"Alright, let's see.."
I opened the minimized form of the mountain map. I already marked the route that I should check.
Now that I think of it. I should probably have brought along a gun.
Aunt Asuka did say that Takiya may only he an underling.
Flashback~
"So, you're finally graduating, huh?" Aunt Asuka said before blowing on the chewing gum in her mouth. It made a small popping sound upon bursting.
"Yeah.. I'll finally be able to go home again," I answered as I took a sip of the coffee I ordered. I understood that Aunt Asuka loves travelling whenever she gets a chance but, for her to come all the way from Japan to visit me in England is actually pretty surprising. I mean, she's been there before already. She doesn't usually like visiting places twice. It's not like I was sulking that no one was there to watch me graduate either. Aunt Noriko can't leave Megumi at home alone and Aunt Asuka had to train the squad members.
She had something else in mind, then..
"You're specialty is criminology. That could make you a great profiler. We need one on the squad.." See? I knew it.
I sighed. At some point during my studies, I somehow knew that this was coming. Asking me to join in the training every one in a while during my rare holidays back in Japan, asking me opinions about the squad members and now, this.. I knew she was going to ask me to join the squad sooner or later.
