"Mikael?" tanging nasambit ko ng makita si Mikael sa likod ng mesa. He is the president of Virgina Lands?

"Hi, its nice seeing you again Samantha" he greeted me. Tumayo ito sa kanyang upuan at lumapit sa akin. He hugged me tight. Sinuklian ko ito ng mas mahigpit na yakap.

I missed this man. When was the last time I saw him? Like four years ago. He became more matured now and even more handsome. He also looked healthy and strong.

"Kamusta ka na?" I curiously asked him. Wala na ba itong sakit? Magaling na ba ito?

"Im good Sam. Heto, as what I promised poging pogi na" he joked. Iginiya niya ako sa isang couch sa loob ng kanyang office.

Sabay kaming umupo, hindi pa rin maalis ang mga mata ko sa kanya. I am happy seeing him again.

"Wow, you indeed looked more handsome. Kamusta ang....ang medication mo?" nagdalawang isip akong itanong ang bagay na iyon. Pero gusto ko talagang malaman ang kalagayan nito.

"Well as what you can see. Im still alive and kicking" he answered smiling boyishly. "Ikaw kamusta ka na?"

"Im great. Everything's doing well for me" I answered chirpily. He nod and smiled at me showing his perfect teeth.

"So going back to the reason why you are here, I needed a secretary. I want someone who knows Accounting. I understand you applied as an accountant. But I will double the salary." he seriously offered. Nagulat ako sa laki ng sahod na sinabi nito. Doble nga sa sahod bilang isang accountant. "So, are you up for the job?"

"Of course Mikael. That is such a great proposal. It will be an honor to work with the president of this company" I happily agreed. "So when can I start?"

"Tomorrow. My secretary will be until next week. She will train you with the work that you need to do. Welcome to the Virgina Lands family Ms. Roque" nakipagkamay ito sa akin.

"Thank you Sir. I will work hard"

Inaya akong maglunch ni Mike sa isang restaurant malapit sa office nito. Doon namin itinuloy ang kwentuhan at kumustahan.

Mike told me about his therapy and how difficult it was while battling for cancer. Naikwento niya ring may nagugustuhan siyang babae. Nurse umano sa isang ospital kung saan siya nagpapagamot. I saw how his eyes gleamed while talking about her. Masaya ako at nahanap ni Mike ang isang taong mamahalin niya at mamahalin din siya.

My first week ended and Ms Amy taught me all the things that I need to know. Tinuruan niya ako kung ano ang role ko bilang secretary ni Mikael. Madali ko namang natutunan ang mga iyon. Ms Amy was patient with me and she answered all my questions without any complaint.

Nalaman kong kailangan na nitong magresign dahil buntis ito sa pangatlong anak. At gusto ng asawa nito na manatili na lang ito sa bahay para alagaan ang mga bata.

Kahapon ang huling araw ni Ms. Amy sa trabaho. Mag-isa na lang ako ngayong papasok. Wala ng magtuturo sa akin. Kinakabahan ako ngunit alam kong kakayanin ko ito.

May mga dokumentong pinatingnan sa akin si Mikael. I also answered telephone calls. Inayos ko rin ang schedule ni Mike.

Ngayon ay alam ko na kung bakit ito naghahanap ng may background sa accountancy, he wanted me to review all the proposals before I submit it to him. He would like me to check any discrepancies with the requested budget for the projects.

Ilang buwan ang nagdaan at madali kong nasaulo ang trabaho. Nalaman ko rin ang mga pasikot sikot ng kompanya. Mikael was nothing but a great friend and employer to me. Tinutulungan niya rin ako tuwing may hindi ako naiintindihan.
