Sighing, I held my son's hand and led us into a bakery.

"Mummy!" Bailey giggled making you smile at him.

"I'm coming baby." It had only been 3 years out of high school but at age 21, you had a 4 year old child. Yeah, you heard right. 4.

You had to pull out of high school early due to your one night stand pregnancy. But you wouldn't take night back for anything. Seeing as you had received the most gorgeous child you could imagine.

Kneeling down, Bailey pointed to the cake he wanted and you pointed to it as well. "That one?"

He nodded giggling and you stood up.

"Hello and how can I-

The person serving you stopped making you look up. Oh my god...

"(Y/N)..."

"Niall..."

Well this is awkward.

"H-hi." He licked his bottom lip though you smiled awkwardly.

"Hello."

"Mummy! Mummy hurry up!" You looked down as Bailey tugged your jeans.

"Alright sweetheart. Sorry." You smiled and looked back up at Niall.

"Y-you have a son?" You nodded in defeat before taking out your wallet.

"Can I grab a loaf of bread and a piece of mud cake thanks." Niall nodded and you took out a few notes waiting to receive what you had asked for.

"£4.5 Thanks." You gave him the notes and he took them before going to the register. Taking a bag, you gave Bailey his wrapped sweet before he giggled and waited at the door.

"Here's your change." Niall said giving you your money.

"Thanks." You said and grabbed the loaf of bread.

"Hey." He put his hand on yours making you look up at him. "I haven't seen you in years. We should catch up. I mean as friends."

You bit your lip and looked at Bailey already eating at his food.

"I-I don't know Niall."

"Please (Y/N). I'm just... I've been worrying about you ever since you dropped out of school." Giving in to his plead, you sighed and nodded. "Does 6 this afternoon work for you?"

"Sure." You said taking your loaf and taking out your phone. "Give me your number." He nodded and took his phone from his pocket.

"I'll text you when my shift finishes." You nodded putting your number into his phone.

"Like old times huh?" Everything went silent before you handed his phone back and got yours.

"I suppose so." Putting your phone away and nodded.

"W-well... see you later I guess." You waved as your son opened the door.

"Bye (Y/N)."

Exiting the store, you sighed and took in fresh air. This isn't like old times (Y/N) so just forget about it. You have to.
