Your POV:
Saeran and I placed the pumpkins, as well as the carving tools, we just bought on the kitchen table. A week ago, we both decided that on Halloween, Saeran and I would carve pumpkins and eat the seeds, after cooking them. Since Saeran never celebrated Halloween before, I suggested that we carve pumpkins. Saeran found the idea was interesting and immediately agreed to it.
"Okay so first, you're going to cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin." I informed, handing Saeran a sharp knife.
Saeran took the knife, but looked clueless on what to do next. I smiled and made a circle, with my finger, around the top of the pumpkin Saeran chose. Saeran then used the knife to cut near the imaginary line I made with my finger.
"Why do you have to cut a hole in the top?" Saeran asked, still cutting the top.
I started to work on cutting the top of my pumpkin as well.
"To get all the seeds out, so you can then carve the pumpkin." I answered.
"Oh. I guess that's logical." Saeran replied, like he just asked the stupidest question in the whole world.
Saeran got the top of his pumpkin cut off and placed the cut part on the paper that we placed on the table before putting the pumpkins on it. Seconds later, I got the top of mine off as well.
"Now you are going to scoop all of the seeds and other stuff out of the pumpkin and place it onto this plate." I instructed, placing a big plate between both of our pumpkins.
Saeran looked at me like I was crazy.
"Why not just into the trash?" He asked.
"Well, you can cook the seeds and eat them. Remember, I suggested that we could cook them and eat them afterwards." I answered.
"We're doing that?" He questioned further, like he completely forgot about the whole eating the pumpkin seeds part.
I nodded and handed Saeran a spoon. He took the spoon and started to do as I said. I followed after I grabbed another spoon.
Emptying out the pumpkin was taking a lot longer than it was with cutting the top off, so Saeran started asking why it was taking forever.
"You could use your hands, if you wanted to." I suggested, but touching the inside of the pumpkin wasn't really ideal. "It might speed up the process."
"I'm fine. I guess this is time I get to spend with you." Saeran's face turned light pink.
Even though Saeran and I have been together for about a month, almost two now, he still is a little reserved when showing how he really feels about certain things.
"It is nice spending some time with you, and doing something that we both can do." I agree.
Saeran nods and focuses back on scooping out all of the insides of his pumpkin.
"Alright, now you can take this marker and outline what you want to carve into your pumpkin." I handed Saeran a marker as we both hallowed out our pumpkins.Saeran took the marker than shifted his pumpkin the other way, so I can't see it. He immediately started outlining, like he had his whole pumpkin planned out from the very beginning.
I smiled at my now red headed boyfriend as he carefully drew on his pumpkin, then I focused back on my pumpkin and started to outline a heart with the letters 'S' and (first/initial) on opposite sides of the heart.
Saeran and I both took out time with outlining on our pumpkins, and we also took even more time when actually carving the pumpkin.
By the time we were both finished with our pumpkins it was already getting dark outside.
"You can show yours first, Y/n." Saeran said as he placed the knife he was using off to the side.
"Okay." I smiled and turned my pumpkin around.
A small smile appeared on Saeran's face after he read what I carved. If Saeran ever smiles at something, he is genuinely happy about it or something warmed his heart in a certain way. Saeran always smiles when he thinks of our relationship. He tells me he is always so happy that I saved him from the cruel, horrible life he had while growing up, so I figured I would carve something that would make him happy.
"Okay. I guess I'll show mine now." Saeran sounded very hesitant.
Saeran slowly turned his pumpkin around and revealed the word 'Family' carved above three pictures.
"They each represent something that each of us love." Saeran looked at the table and played with his fingers, almost like he was embarrassed to show me.
On the left, there was a picture of something that looked almost like a bag of Saeyoung's favorite chip, so that must be about Saeran's older twin. In the middle was a picture that looked like ice cream in a bowl, that must be Saeran. On the right, there is a(n) (item-that-represents-you), so that must be me. Between all of the items was a thin cut out that looked like a string that was tying all of the items together.
"Awe. Saeran." I smiled and brought Saeran into a tight embrace. "I love you."
Saeran wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.
"I love you too, Y/n." Saeran whispered. "Thanks for showing me what it's like to have someone care for me. Happy Halloween."
"Happy Halloween, Saeran."
