Jack

"Are you guys dating?" Jamie asked Cora and Jack as she saw them sitting down at a table together.

Jack was treating Cora to a dinner for the just past Valentine holiday that was, that day.

"No, it's just a dinner, as friends" the girl said.

Jack had me the girl online and she happened to be in Seattle, Washington where his dad lived.

He stayed a couple extra days to take her out for the special day.

Jack brushed off what she said and continued the date as if they were friends.

When they were finally done, he took them out for froyo, seeing as she really wanted it.

Jack loaded his up with a bunch of toppings that included whip cream, m&m's, chocolate syrup, and any sugary candy there.

Jack genuinely had feelings for the girl that he'd talk too for months and months.

While they were eating their yogurt, Cora grabbed onto Jack's hand.

She took a deep breath and softly said "can I be honest with you?" Jack looked up at Cora, star struck by her beauty.

"Of course" he replied. "I really, really like Daniel Seavey. Don't get me wrong, you're a great guy, I just I like him. I'm sorry" the girl said and let go of Jack's hand.

Jack's heart shattered, right then and there. He had never felt this much pain from just a simple girl, not including his family.

"It's okay, seriously" jack said smiling. "I'm just glad you told me before we got serious." He said with a fake smile.

"But can I ask... why?"

"Daniels just better. He's skinner, he's in shape, he cares about his calories. You're seriously a sweet guy, one of the sweetest I've ever met, but I really like guys who are fit."

Every word stung Jack. The fact that he wasn't 'in shape' for the girl he was crushing on, killed him.

Now it was only April and Jack jumped at the sudden outburst of the boys yelling his name, one snapping in his face.

"Sorry, What?" Jack said making an uncomfortable shift in his seat. Somehow he ended up in a booth in the Starbucks. He didn't remember how he got in there or when he even exited the car.

"What do you want to drink?" Jonah asked, ignoring the fact that he was all zoned out. "Just a coffee. Thanks Jo" Jack replied and looked over at Daniel.

Daniel was smiling down at his phone, twiddling his thumbs, signaling he was texting someone. Cora. He though, oh boy was he right.

As all five sat in the booth drinking their coffee, Jack had tried to act normal. His thoughts were running through his head.

He felt himself growing deeper into a black hole that he couldn't get out, no matter how hard he tried.

"Why couldn't I be as skinny as you guys?" Jack blurred out, still staring out the window.

This cause the four boys to snap their necks by the rush and impact of them turning their heads.

"Jack, what do you mean? You're still skinny. It's okay if you're not literally skin and bones" Daniel replied looking at his curly head best friend.

"That's easy for you to say. I want to be like you. I want to be like you, Zach, Corbyn, and I want to have the muscles like Jonah" Jack said standing up form the booth.

"Forget i said anything. I'm gonna go to the bathroom" he said as he walked quickly to the restroom.

Jack quickly hovered over the bathroom toilet, emptying the contents and calories from the iced coffee he just drank.

Jack stood up, washing his hands, splashing cold water on his face. He stared at his sad reflection.

"What have I become?" Jack mumbled
