I stare at the radio in shock before staring at Rick who simply looks at it.

It crackles again and the man speaks "Hey, you guys alive in there?"

I stare at it before staring at Rick, he's a cop.

I shove my foot under him and push him towards the radio across the small tank.

I twirl the ring on my finger as Rick slams his forehead on a metal beam before sitting next to the radio, giving me a look as he speaks into the mouthpiece "Hello? Hello?"

I press the crown of my head to the cool metal behind me as I twitch, Rick nudges my foot with his as the guy responds "There you are."

The man sighs to himself and continues "You had me worried, is the girl safe?".

I shuffle over next to the man and grab the offered radio, pressing the same button as Rick. My voice comes out slightly shaky as I mutter "I'm good."

The guy makes a sound at the back of his throat before I offer it back to Rick.

He flashes me a nervous smile as he shoots off rapid questions to the stranger "Where are you? Outside? Can you see me right now?"

I pinch the bridge of my nose as I sit back, slowly tensing and releasing the muscles. Rick is trying to keep me calm and I know that but it's kinda hard seeing that WE ARE STUCK IN A DAMNED TANK!

God.

I glance at where my baby was thrown half hazardously and pick it up, slowly inspecting it for nicks. Seeing none I wipe the blade off on the dead guy in here.

Nice. Placing her back in place I tune into Rick as the guy speaks assured in himself "Yeah, I can see you."

The guy grunts and comes back as it sounds like he's restricted by breathing momentarily "You're surrounded by walkers. That's the bad news"

I groan and tap my foot, the sound echoing off the metal walls eerily. Rick glances at me and asks hopefully "There good news?"

The groaning on all sides of us isn't a good sign of how the hell we are going to get out of here. The guy sighs and seems to think before speaking plainly "No, sorry man."

I imitate the walkers all around us and groan myself. Fucking let this freshly awake man drag me into a dead city and now we are going to die.

Wonderful. Honestly.

Rick, now worried in our damned predicament speaks calmly into the mic as he peers over at me "Listen, whoever you are, I don't mind telling you that I'm a little concerned in here."

The man chuckles and voices mindlessly "Oh man. You should see it from over here. You'd be having a major freak-out. Anyhow is the girl keeping cool?"

I press into the skin of the hollow of my throat before taking the mic, clearing my voice "Im good, kinda don't like this, any advice?"

The man hums slightly before speaking quickly "Ok, good. Yeah, I'd say, make a run for it."

I tilt my head as I press two fingers into the base of my throat, great. I'm good at running. I glance at Rick who looks absolutely dumbfounded at the advice.
