I look around me before swinging the bag around and started to climb a tree.
If I can hang over the mud pit Shane won't find it, or if he does he won't go for it. The mud will ruin the guns.
Then a voice interrupts my thoughts "Man, this is a good hiding place."
I cringe and look down at Shane's pissed off face. I huff and climb down, facing the man with a dark bruise on his face.
He shifted his weight as he rubbed his head "We ain't been in the swamps much, huh?"
I click my tongue as I scoff "Imagine if you applied your tracking skills to find Sophia. Or if you were as good at tracking as you are pissing me off, maybe we could find her. That blame isn't on me."
His jaw clicks as he growls "How about you just give me that bag, huh?"
I give him a sarcastic smile and shake my head saying "I'm not gonna do that. You wanna know why?"
He stares me down as he creeps closer, he releases a smile that was all teeth and nodded.
I tilt my head as I watch his hand creep to his belt. "I'm not going to give you the guns because you are going to use one to kill those walkers, and maybe even me. Then Dale, then anyone that gets in your way."
He stares into my eyes as I continue "And you wouldn't care. You want things that aren't yours. You want people that aren't yours to want. You claim things that you don't have the right to claim. But... you don't care. I'd rather ruin all these guns than give them to you."
He took a step towards me as I held the guns over the mud pond "Yeah you are, Luciana. Because if you do that, you ruin your own gun. Wasn't that your moms?"
I halt but shake my head as I scoff "I'd rather ruin the gun to save the group than be selfish -like you- and risk them all because you want something."
I jolt the bag as I glare at him "And even if I throw these. What are you going to do? Shoot me? Stab me? Been there, done that. Say that" my voice gets airy as I pretend to sound like him "She got bit and the only humane thing to do is to put her down?"
He comes closer to the point that we are chest to chest. I try to find footing behind me but there is no more solid ground. My voice gets tight as I ask "Tell another story?"
His head shaking he bumped into me, making me wobble on the edge as he insinuated "No, man. Hell, when you really look at it in the cold light of day, you're pretty much dead already. Just- just give me the guns. You're too pretty to die so young."
I visibly cringe as his head comes closer, making me tilt mine away, then he roars suddenly "Do it now!"
I jump and try to calm my racing heart. But without my permission, my eyes started to water.
I clear my throat as it wobbles "You think this is gonna keep us safe? It's not."
He pushes into me, gripping my arms painfully as I almost fall into the mud. His hand the only thing that's keeping me and the guns safe from it.
He moves his lips against my ear as I let out a small whimper "Ya-hah. I know it is."
Tears start to fall as I whimper "Rick is trying to get Hershel-"
Suddenly Shane shakes me, making me cry out, and shouts "Lucy, shut up! Just shut up and give me the guns."
A soft cry escapes me as I gasp "This is where you belong, Shane. The world was always fucked but now? People like you don't have to hide in the shadows. You can thrive in this world. And I can't say that the world didn't change me, cause it did! But! But I don't go after kids. I don't try to rape-"
