"Best not to dwell on it. Merle got left behind. Nobodys gonna be sad he didn't come back... except maybe Daryl."

Morales rolls his eyes as I scoff at him "He's a person. It doesn't matter that he's not liked. He deserves to live, what crime against humans did he commit?"

I huff as the others look at me weirdly, I snap as I choke out as an invisible elephant sits its fat ass on my chest "Huh? No crime other being an asshole? This isn't the old world, we don't get leave people because they are annoying, this is the new world. That kills, this kills. When we get there, where ever the hell we are going, I'm going back and getting I'm him."

I sink further down and pull my legs close to my chest, god, this was my signature sitting position when I lived with my dad since I had to protect as much could.

"Daryl?" Rick asks as he looks back at us, eyes lingering on me for longer. I roll my eyes and shrug, like how am I supposed to know, but Morales answers as we drift into the tense silence "Merle's brother".

Great, maybe I can get him to join me to get his brother back... if he's up to it, he might have the self-sense to say that his brother is quite a cunt.

I sigh as I hear the same alarm from the store roar past us and Glenn whopping as he speeds past.

I scoff a laugh and shake my head, maybe I can get to drive with him next time. I say soberly "At least he's having a good day..."

I don't want someone else to have the chance to leave, my mama left, my princess. If I have to lock my heart in an iron box and bury it then that's what ill have to do.

Someone nudges me with their foot and I hit the limb, jumping to a standing position.

I sigh and mutter a tired sorry to the person and notice that the truck is stopped. I look up and see Rick.

I offer him a stiff nod and jump out of the truck with Rick next to me.

I watch as Glenn stands around a red sports car, so I walk over to him and bump hips with him, making him look at me and crack a small smile, he returns it quickly.

I turn back to see a small brunette boy with striking blue eyes with chubby cheeks, behind the boy, was a tall slender woman with chocolate eyes that match her wavy hair. I overhear Morales talking.

"He's a cop like you." I scrunch my eyebrows and look over to see Morales and a man with shaggy black hair and a blue shirt with the top buttons unbuttoned, showing a necklace with a 22. Is he a cop?

Oh yeah, no question. His stance, how he holds himself. It all yells COP. Just as I see him looking over the chocolate woman with the blue-eyed boy with defense in his eyes and stance.

His eyes sweep over and latches on with Ricks just as I hear the blue-eyed boy cry out "DAD! DAD!"

My full attention is turned there as the boy flys into Ricks' arms, I hold back my smirk as I look on.

The family of three twists in a hug they all look happy. The other cop looks on and fakes a smile as the woman looks back at the man but when Rick looks at the man, the smile turns more grave. I turn back to Glenn as stand by him as the family smiles on.

"How did you get here?" The woman asks Rick, his wife, asks.

Suddenly I'm pulled by my wrist by no other than Rick, I harshly pull away from his grasp and cross my arms over my chest as I am thrown into the center of attention.
