"So where exactly am I taking you?" Brendon finally decides to ask, after driving for around ten minutes.
"Uh, just to my house, if you remember where that is," Ryan answered. "I just need to get my dads car and then hope I remember how to drive."
"Hope you remember how to drive? I don't think so, sweetie. Just tell me where you need to get to."
"No, I don't want you to be like a fucking chauffeur for the next week."
"Okay, but if you haven't driven since you left for college, I ain't risking your ass dying in a car crash. I don't mind, Ryan."
"I'll be fine, Brendon. It hasn't been two years, I've driven a car like once in the past year."
"The point still stands, dumb ass. So either I can take you, if you stop being a little bitch about it, anyways, or your dad can take you. Which will it be, darling?"
"My dad can't do that."
"Well then it looks like you're stuck with me. So, where?"
"Hospital," he answered shortly and quietly, looking out the window. He was almost too quiet for Brendon to understand him.
"What?" Brendon asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. "Why?" Ryan didn't answer, he just continued to stare blankly out the window. Brendon looked over at him concerned. "Ry, is everything okay?"
"Yes, Brendon, everything is fucking peachy. That's why I'm asking you to drive me to a god damn hospital."
Brendon didn't answer, though he really wanted to be just as bitchy to the other boy. Instead he just turned on the radio, somehow making for an even more tense silence, the opposite of his goal, and focused on his driving.
Its amazing how much can change so quickly. In just a few words, they went from acting as if they were the same happy couple they were back in high school, to being sucked back into the reality of things that neither of the really wanted to be in.

Don't you love when youre so sick you can't sleep laying down because then you can't breathe
Cause that's my favorite thing in the entire damn worldI'm just now realizing that I get sick really often
Like I don't think there's been a single day this month where I've been entirely illness free
I wish people knew how to stay home from school when theyre sick
Like I get that you don't want to make up the work cause there's gonna be a lot of it, but honestly I think its better to make it up and do it when you dont feel like shit cause usually when you're sick you do a pretty bad job on workBut anyways, on a completely unrelated topic
Am I the only one that liked (fuck a) silver lining better when I first listened to the songs
Like they're both good but I liked silver lining better
Cause like I was talking to a bunch of my friends about it and they're all like "oh yeah I like say amen a lot more"
But like
No ?
