It's me again God,
Cockatoos are screeching as they head home for the day. The sky is a mixed pallet of blue, grey and white. A couple of hours ago I sat here listening to distant thunder rumble as a cool change swept through, dropping the temperature and bringing the slightest sprinkling of rain after another hot autumn day.
A beautiful rainbow arched its way across the sky as we went on our late afternoon walk and I was reminded of Your promise to Noah:
"I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant(promise) with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life."
Genesis 9:13-15 NLTThis reminded me of other promises You have made. Your Word shows me that You always keep Your promises and I'm so thankful for that!
One promise that just comes to mind is:
"So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free."
John 8:36 NLTJesus, You said these words Yourself and I am so thankful I have been reminded that Your death on the cross has brought me freedom - freedom from having to carry the shame and weight of my own sin, freedom to live my life and have a relationship with the Father and freedom to look forward to eternity with You! It's so great to have such assurance and to have the Holy Spirit living inside of me.
God, I love the way You speak to me through creation. The sunset this evening painted pretty oranges and pinks across the sky - a glorious finale to the day! Thank You for speaking to me through creation as I have sat watching out my window from my desk. Thank You for reminding me of Your creativity, might and power!
Thank You for the precious people who have come across my path today, either in person or electronically. Bless them with a close walk with You - may they rejoice in the freedom brought to their lives by Your death and resurrection Jesus. May they fall more and more in love with You as each day goes by. May they choose to read Your Word and get to know you better. Give them understanding and may they hold onto all of your amazing promises!
Thank You for listening to my spoken and unspoken prayers today God.
I can't wait to talk again tomorrow!
Amen.
