It's me again God,

What a blessing it is to be in Your presence today as I look to Your Word once more. Thank You for the many ways in the past 24 hours that You have supplied all of my needs. Thank You for the things that I often take for granted because You consistently provide for myself and my family. Let me see You as I study Your Word. May I see Your glory and Your grace.

As I look at Philippians chapter 2 again today I come to that beautiful description of You Jesus. I have always loved this passage because it shows what an amazing Saviour I have. I can marvel at all of your wonderful characteristics but Paul actually lists them here for a particular purpose - it is outlined in the first sentence:

"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What an incredible example to follow! Jesus I thank You for being willing to leave Your home in heaven to walk this earth for a while. I am in awe of your sacrifice but I know that Paul is trying to get me to see Your humility as something that I imitate in my life in all my relationships with others. It's more than a 'What Would Jesus Do?' sort of thing but also a 'What Would Jesus Think?'. It's all about Your mindset Lord.

"Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ."
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As Christians, we can know that we have the mind of Christ but each day, we choose to walk in it. Lord please help me as I live each day, to have Your humility.

Your humility was astounding! You took the form of a man, You were born into an obscure, oppressed place, into poverty among a despised people. You were born as a child instead of appearing as a man and would have humbly submitted to the obedience expected of a child in a household at that time. You were humble in learning and practicing a trade as a carpenter and waited a long time until You began Your public ministry.

You were humble in the companions and disciples You chose and humble in the way You taught. You humbly withstood and endured temptations, weakness, hunger, thirst, and tiredness. You were humble in Your total obedience to Your Heavenly Father and submission to the Holy Spirit.

You were humble in choosing and submitting to the death and agony of the cross, saying to Your Father, 'Yet not my will but Yours be done'. (Luke 22:42) You humbly took all the shame, mocking and public humiliation before Your death. More than that, You endured the spiritual agony as You bore all of our sins in Your body, taking the punishment we deserved.

What can I say? 'Thank You' doesn't seem to be enough, but I surrender all to You and choose to look only to You as my example.

I choose to join all who hear Your Name and bow their knee, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. I choose to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,
Amen.
