57. The Gift

It's me again God,

I'm coming to You today, acknowledging that I need Your guidance, I need You to lead me. Just as a sheep let's the shepherd do all the work of finding green pastures and still waters, I wait on You to lead me through this day. Show me where my feet should tread today. Lead me and I will follow. Speak to me Lord as I read this Psalm again. Impress it on my heart and mind:

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."

Thank You Lord that Your leadership comforts and restores. You lead me in the paths of righteousness and I'm so thankful that this means a great deal for me, living on the other side of the cross to David. Nothing I could do would make me righteous enough to enter into heaven but Jesus, You came and changed all of that! You took all my sin in Your body on the cross and received the punishment I deserved. You made it possible for me to have right standing with the Father.

"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!" Romans‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

ThankYou so much for Your finished work on the cross! Thank You for the gift of righteousness that I now have. I acknowledge that at times I stray from the path of doing right but I thank You that because of Jesus, I am righteous in Your sight. Thank You for leading me to Him!

Thank You Jesus that because of what You endured on my behalf, I am treated as if I had entirely fulfilled every aspect of the Law. Thank You so much for this precious gift of righteousness given freely to all who believe in You. Thank You Father for Your great mercy and grace.
