It's me again God,
Thank You that when I woke today, I was surrounded by Your love! Thank You for the promises You have communicated to me through Your Word concerning love. Thank You that they allow me to feel completely secure:
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV
Nothing in our world lasts forever and love is portrayed in a very different way to how You intended us to experience it. Increasingly it's all about what a person can get and when their requirements are not met, relationships fail and people eventually move onto someone else. Your love is about giving and that's very different!
The saying 'looking for love in all the wrong places' has never been more true in our society where instant gratification is the goal. However, it doesn't matter how many experiences a person has, it doesn't fill the void in them —only one thing can:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16 NIV
Thank You that a person only needs to believe in Your gift of love —Jesus, in order to receive eternal life!
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9 NIV
Thank You Jesus for lovingly taking all my sin on the cross so I would not have to bear it. I am so blessed to be purified from all my unrighteousness and to know I will live forever with You! I rejoice in Your wonderful love and grace shown to me!
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39 NIV
Thank You that I can never be separated from Your love! I am secure because Jesus made a way! Thank You that Your love for us can be passed onto others, in fact it must be passed on:
""A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.""
John 13:34-35 NIV
May I demonstrate Your love in all my thoughts, words and actions today, through Your Holy Spirit living in me. Thank You again for Your promise of love —
"I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself."
Psalm 89:2 NIV
