Lord, as I live in this world You created, my eyes can be on all sorts of things throughout any given day. I can spend a great deal of leisure time enjoying the environment You have placed me in, which surely should be a good thing. However, as the days go by, many different things take my time and attention and can seem to be the focus of my week.
People will come into my life and relationships will be forged, I may even feel great love and compassion. I will be indignant about how people should be treated and I could give much time to working for a particular cause. However, while all of these things are good, I know that first and foremost, my eyes need to be fixed on You! I need to seek Your Kingdom as my number one priority, before anything else:
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33 NIV
Lord, You are the only One who is truly worthy to be the main focus of my attention. You are the only One I should exalt! You are worthy of all my praise and adoration. You are the One who has given all that I might live forever. You are the One I want to love with my whole heart. My relationship with You is the only one that will remain forever!
The cause of Christ is the only cause I really feel passionate about. I know how much You love me Lord - the Cross speaks volumes. I no longer have to fear death because Jesus, Your death has changed everything and brought me eternal life! You were innocent but took my sin upon You. I was guilty but You paid the price and brought me freedom! I give my whole life, to follow Your love - it is my mission, my purpose, my passion.
My heart is so full of thanksgiving to You God!
I praise You my risen Saviour and am so happy to be able to pray in Your Name,
