It's me again God,
It's great to spend time with You every day - I really want to get to know You better. When I was a child I remember hearing about Jesus at Sunday School and singing songs about him but not really feeling so close. That all changed when I made a decision to ask You Jesus, to be my Lord and Saviour at age 11. That was the time that I really started having a deep desire to read Your Word, the Bible for myself.
Over the years, I have loved reading Your Word and getting to know You better. There are certain passages that just stood out as You spoke to me. I remember the first time I read John 17 and was really touched!
Before You were crucified Jesus, You prayed to Your Father, in the garden of Gethsemane. You prayed for Your disciples and then You prayed for us who would believe in the future. I remember how excited I was to know that You prayed for me even before I was born!
""My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.""
John 17:20-26 NIV
Thank You Jesus for coming to earth, showing us how to love, teaching us about your Father and dying on the cross. Thank You too that You thought of us and prayed for us. Thank You that You are seated in heaven now at the right hand of the Father and that You still love and care for us by hearing our prayers and interceding on our behalf.
I love You and thank You for all you have done!
