It's me again God,
I am excited to begin this new day with You! I want to put You in the place of honour You deserve in my life. So many distractions can happen once I get out of bed but I am determined to put You first today! I love You so much and I want to lift up Your Name for it is the Name above all names!
I am so thankful to have been introduced to You. It's such a privilege to have access to Your Word so I can hear You speak to me and have the chance to really know You well. I remember making the decision to make Jesus my Lord and Saviour and the incredible change that it brought to my life. I remember the passion I had to read the Bible each day. As I woke today, I had the words of a song in my head ('First Love' Hillsong Young and Free), which challenged me to consider my journey and whether I still have that depth of love I first had as a Christian. It reminded me of the sad words spoken to the church at Ephesus:
"~'But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]."
REVELATION 2:4 AMP
I never want You to have to say this about me Lord! I commit my life to loving and serving You. There is nothing I want more than to do Your will!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV
Today I choose to run that race You have marked out for me! My eyes are on You Jesus for You are the author and perfecter of my faith. You are my example and I want to be more like You every day.
"I'm writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon you. For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control."
2 Timothy 1:6-7 TPT
Lord I want to be on fire for You, using the gift You gave me. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit in me and for the power that is available! Thank You for the love You give me to give away. I pray that today I will harness the self-control You have given me to bring glory to Your Name.
"So set me on fire like I've never known
I want to love You more as life goes on
So all of my days I'll place
My first love first again" (First Love)
