It's me again God,
This is the day that You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! I don't take this time I have with You for granted. I am excited to spend these minutes reflecting on Your Word, looking for direction, listening to You speak. Today I will communicate with many people but my communication with You is the most vital.
Our world has never been so connected and opinionated through the many ways to communicate. I never would have guessed that one day media would be 'social', spread so quickly and have the potential for instant impact, often not in a positive way. Sadly, the enemy uses this platform to create new ways to discourage, dishearten and dismay people. Thank You for these verses which suggest how our attitude must be as Christians:
"And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else."
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 NIVWe have an important role to play in warning those who are lazy and spend their time being disruptive through their bad attitude. Our attitude should be increasingly like Yours and marked with humility:
"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:"
Philippians 2:5 NIVHelp me today to have encouraging words to say that reflect the fact that by Your Spirit, You live in me. Lord so many people are being disheartened by the 'Me first' attitude of others on social media. I know my role is to bring a balance here. May I be ready to help the weak with my words of hope. May my actions speak loudly of Your love in me.
Patience seems to almost be a thing of the past with people seeing their own rights as being superior to everyone else's. Lord help me to be happy to accept and tolerate delays, without becoming annoyed or anxious, seeking to consider the needs of others before my own. Particularly help me with this as I travel on the roads!
Taking revenge when someone does you wrong almost seems to be considered as a right in our culture. Lord please help me to stand apart from the world with this attitude and instead boldly do what is good for everyone else. I know I cannot do this in my own strength, I need Your Spirit in me to fight against the urge to follow the attitude of the world.
Holy Spirit give me wisdom in all of my ways today, both in my personal encounters with people and in my communication on social media too. May an attitude of love and tolerance prevail, to bring You glory,
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
