It's me again God,
I was challenged this morning, by a hymn I haven't sung for years! It was playing over and over in my mind when I woke up and even though I couldn't remember all the words, the chorus was reminding me to 'Praise Him with hallelujahs, for Jesus is Lord." It made me ask the question, am I really aware of the authority and power Jesus has in my life? When I call You 'Lord', shouldn't it make all my problems seem small? I need to be singing 'Hallelujah - God be praised' not just on Sundays at church, but every day! Celebration of all that You are needs to be as natural as breathing. What a difference it would make in how I handle everyday pressures and problems, if only I realised the authority of the One who lives in me by the Holy Spirit!
Later, I looked up the full lyrics on the internet:
Jesus is Lord! Creation's voice proclaims it
For by His power each tree and flower
Was planned and made
Jesus is Lord! The universe declares it
Sun, moon and stars in heaven
Cry, 'Jesus is Lord!'
Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Lord!
Praise Him with hallelujahs
For Jesus is Lord!
Jesus is Lord! Yet from His throne eternal
In flesh He came to die in pain
On Calvary's tree
Jesus is Lord! From Him all life proceeding
Yet gave His life a ransom
Thus setting us free
Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Lord!
Praise Him with hallelujahs
For Jesus is Lord!
Jesus is Lord! O'er sin the mighty conqueror
From death He rose, and all His foes
Shall own His name
Jesus is Lord! God sent His Holy Spirit
To show by works of power
That Jesus is Lord
Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Lord!
Praise Him with hallelujahs
For Jesus is Lord!
(David Mansell 1974)The hymn speaks of You as Creator, Planner, Maker, Saviour and Conqueror! Thank You that when I call upon Your name, I am going to the One, true, living God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
"Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence."
Ephesians 1:3-4 TPTHallelujah!
AMEN!
